1st our server Nicole was amazing. We had arancini for an appetizers they are delicious. I would go back just for these. Our meals came with salads the parmesan peppercorn dressing was one of the best I've had in a long time. The salad was good size the crutons were just cheap bagged ones that were not great. ( I wish they were better as they compliment the salad) my husband ordered fish and chips it came rush coleslaw he said the fish was really good and the fries were crispy. I tried the coleslaw it was not very flavorful. I got the parmesan crusted chicken with mashed potatoes and I swapped the green beans and got brussel sprouts. I had to unfortunately send my dish back as I have a tomato allergic ( YES I TOLD THEM) and it came with tomatos all over the top. My husband's dish came with tomatos and greens mixed on it was well (see pic) no it was not listed on the menu. My dish was remade and a manager did come over and apologized. When I got my food it was very good the chicken pieces were cooked well and they were delicious I could only eat 1 piece ( left over for hubby today) the potatoes needed a little s&p and could have used a little butter. The brussel were a little over done but tasted good. Nicole offered. a free dessert for the mix up and we got the chocolate mousse cake it was a average pre-made dessert nothing I would have to have again. The building is very nice, they have very limited parking. I did notice everyone coming in the main door and then being directed to walk through the restaurant to the hostess stand as that 1st area was for take out. A sign outside directing people to the 2nd door would be helpful and less confusing when it's busy. Overall it was a very good experience and I would go back just to have the arancini again!! And definitely ask for Nicole to be your server. side note we ate inside but the do have a nice patio...
Read moreNot terribly impressed with the food here. (Disclaimer: I didn't try the pizza and I think that's their signature dish.)(However: "Grill" is right in the title, so...)
Nearly everything we ate was frozen. The burger was frozen. The eggplant parm was frozen. The breaded chicken was frozen. As a result, everything was incredibly dry and chewy. The eggplant parm was paired with this weird oil-based vegetable pasta which didn't make any sense because the parm itself had a tomato based sauce. Why did they do this? Well, because the eggplant came from frozen and rather than try to match the sauce, they just paired it with a sauce they already had on hand. The resulting dish made no sense.
The burger legitimately tasted and had the texture of a frozen, microwaved burger. The bun was good, though. The chicken fingers were so hard, that I'm pretty sure they were just breaded, deep fried pieces of chicken skin. My kid barely touched them and had a meal of fries instead.
The chicken marsala was okay... but it sure wasn't what I'd call a traditional marsala sauce. Hardly any mushrooms, lots of large slices of onion, and just BLASTED with dried herbs. I'm pretty sure it just came from a generic "Italian herb blend" shaker. It was so heavy-handed, I couldn't even taste the wine. (And honestly, the coloring of the sauce led me to believe there was no wine used.) It tasted okay, so I ate it, but it was not at all what I was expecting. And one the plus side, the chicken didn't come from frozen. So there's that.
I don't know. Maybe the pizza is good? From my experience, though, the...
Read moreI’m at a loss for words...I brought my 12 year old and infant there to meet my diabetic husband for his dinner break (he just recently started working 2nd shift). I got there at 7:00 with the intention of ordering at 7:30 and having our food ready and waiting for my husband for his 8:00 break (he works right down the street). I was told it would probably be a 30 minute wait, it was actually an hour, which was fine. To be proactive I tried to pre order our pizzas at the take out window so whenever we got our table my husband could eat. I was told that this is not aloud so I said what if I order our pizzas to go but when our table is ready we sit down and order salads. I was told that is fine. When we ordered our salads the manager came over and told us we would not be aloud to eat our pizza that we purchased AT TUNXIS in the restaurant because it would be like cutting people in line! ...what?! This guy had no concept of logistics. 1st of all, this gets the customer in and out faster which is way more beneficial to both parties, 2nd of all I was perfectly happy waiting twice the length of time that I was told I would have to wait so why would you give me a hard time, 3rd of all I’m nursing a crying infant that you would think you want out of your restaurant sooner rather than later. Not very smart.
I’m very unhappy. We go there often but not anymore.
On a brighter note our server and her trainee were very kind and did not give us a hard time about eating our food at the table as we ordered drinks, salads and tipped well.
Regardless, I won’t be going back. I am...
