Found this absolute treasure on a sleepy Sunday morning, while driving between Tacoma and Portland. It’s just few minutes off I-5 in downtown Winlock. First of all was not expecting anyone to be open at 0900 on Sunday, but they were much to my delight! The place has a country feel and the antique display cases and impressive collection of rolling pins add to that vibe, many of the pins were donated by a customer. Some look brand new others well used and old. The rolling pins and art alone are a fine reason to go in and look around. Local art graces the walls and is for sale, if one cares to purchase eye delights as well as those for the belly. I cannot remember the artists name, but is a well regarded local. Picked up a loaf of sugar beet white sourdough- delicious, and oh so colorful. It was a fun addition to the evening’s meal of hearty chicken soup. Added a cup of coffee which was fine, and a blueberry treat. Honestly, the blueberry was the finest pastry I’ve ever had, flaky and layered, without making a mess all over your car flaky, buttery undertone, the tart blueberries in perfect sharp contrast a top the subtle sublime cream. Stunning. Take 5 minutes and roll off I-5 at exit 63, and get into Mill bakery, you will be glad ya did. Terrific service, I think one of the owners, helpful, and answered questions but also let me explore while contemplating choices. To my knowledge they are closed Monday and Tuesday.

Stopped in with my husband early on a Saturday morning for a little weekend treat, and oh we were pleasantly surprised! Very cute place with wonderful displays for the variety of pastries and goods offered. Everything looked so fresh and tasty. We settled for some danishes and a slice of zucchini bread. The bread was moist and delicious, and the danishes were crisp and flaky yet also soft and sweet! Very good. We also really enjoyed looking at all of the art pieces on the walls from a local artist. Very cool place, definitely worth checking out for a treat.

Wow! I went in for a coffee and ended up having a savory Danish, which was the best I've ever had. I tasted my husband's blackberry topped cheesecake which was also baked to perfection. Can't wait to go back and try the rest of the chef's creations! I also enjoyed the cozy atmosphere and the huge rolling pin collection/decor!

Homemade quality with locally sourced products as I understand. So much better than grocery store quality. They were out of carrot cake but the maple baon donuts, blueberry coffee cake, Danish and empanadas were all excellent. Purchased a variety for family sampling. The big thing is the quality of ingredients and the lack of everything being too sweet. All was perfect. Looking forward to...
