Winner Chicken Dinner — Restaurant in Winner

Came here on our way from Sioux Fall back to Rapid City. Saw it on Facebook from a friend who had been here and being a lover of fried chicken decided to take the back roads to try it. Glad we did!! Everything was great!! The chicken was hot, crispy, and succulent – and I had white meat, so that is saying a lot! The coleslaw was slightly sweet, the way my mom used to make it :) and their fries!! Oh not to mention the caramel pecan chocolate cheesecake!! The food is homemade, the service is exceptional, and the owner, Mr. Duane, is one of the friendliest people you’ll ever meet- Winner Chicken Dinner is worth the trip!! There is road construction right now, so just go around the back. Great broasted chicken! The online ordering option not up to give stars. One must have their app to order and not everyone wants to get an app if it’s not something they will use often. I ordered ahead and when I arrived it wasn’t ready and they took the chicken from the “already prepared” chicken that you get as a walk in. I’m not suggesting it was not as good- but I was in a situation where they ran out of thighs so they offered something else to replace it, or wait for a new batch to be made. Friendly staff. Fast service. Small town atmosphere. Looked to be seating for maybe 14 inside with several picnic benches outside. Chicken was crispy outside and juicy inside like most people prefer. We had 2 sides of coleslaw and Mac and cheese. Mac and cheese sauce was probably out of a jug but it was tasty enough. Coleslaw was good. Chicken needed some spices. Not looking for hot.
