Foster's Place Restaurant — Restaurant in Winnsboro

Those of you that know me, know that I'm all about hidden gems. Well Foster's may be the most hidden gem of them all. We're already talking East Texas and 2 lane roads, but that's what half the charm is. I don't know that if my friends weren't driving that I would have been able to find it on my own, but that's why it's good to have amazing friends. We pulled into an already full parking lot early on Thursday evening, and began our adventure. So Foster's isn't fancy or upscale, but what it does extremely well is make you feel at home. The bartenders and waitresses are extremely friendly and willing to answer any questions you may have about food and drink options. Their tap beer list isn't the largest (12), but always great custom brews and always in rotation. I had the #1 that night, and I think the name had "dank" somewhere in it. It was smooth and delicious, and as far as I can remember after 4 of them, pretty strong : ) The food was typical bar fare; sandwiches, burgers, wings, and their homemade pizza, which was outstanding thin crust goodness. As it was a pretty large group of us, we ordered chips and salsa, the boneless mango habanero wings, the Black Butte BBQ wings, and the spicy wings. And then also the meat lover and the works pizzas. We were very full by the time we left. Everything was delicious, but the pizza was especially tasty. It was a good thing that there was also an extremely talented musician on hand as well. The sounds of her guitar and beautiful voice filled up, did not overpower the establishment. I'll put her name on here when I remember. As it was getting nearer to closing time, the dining area was being shut down, and we were able to continue being serenaded outdoors in the spacious patio are. The patio has a little play area and the cool Texas winds were keeping us comfortable late into the night. This is a great place for friends and family to come hang out, have a great meal, drinks, and enjoy each other's company. Ive only had had the wings the burgers and pizza the wings and burgers were great but and i hate to complain but the other night i bought a large supreme pizza and it cost me 16 dollars i later came in about 5 minutes later and told the wait would be 20 to 25 minutes which i understand so i waited 27 minutes plus the 5 minutes it takes me to get there tan i was told it would be five more minutes which im not really upset about but one i got the pizza i took it home and the pizza was at best a medium pizza and the out side was about three inches of hard and i mean hard crust and the in side was so soft it fell apart so after the most part of an hour and 16 dollars i got a pizza that should have cost 5 dollars at best .now i hate to complain about a problem and not offer up a solution and this is totally up to you but i would buy those little rectangle tony's pizz that only take like 15 minutes to cook and only cost like three dollars at most (dont know if you can sell other companies products or not probly have to look into it) but you make those instead you can sell those thing for like three or four dollars at most plenty of profit easy to make and you could call the personal pizzas or you could cut them up into squares and call the pizza bites or something more catchy and they will probly sell like fire to cave men just a suggestion. Horrible service, waited forever to even get drinks.. We finally got to order our food, which they also took their sweet time getting it to us, we gave them the benefit of the doubt thinking their making the food fresh, but that wasn't the case.. The food looked like it had been under a heat lamp for a few hours then taken out from under the heat lamp and just sat. Our food was cold and the drinks tasted like they have not cleaned the fountain drink machine in a while.... Sitting at the table, flies are swarming us and constantly landing on ourselves and the food. Not to mention the hair that WAS NOT MINE found in MY food.... The service was the absolute worst I've ever had, our waiter was rude and irritated at us for pointing out the LONG DARK HAIR in my food.... I'm blonde so it was clearly not my hair!
