Catfish Zone — Restaurant in Winona

I was a stranger walking into this restaurant off the street….well a stranger driving in off the interstate and I can verify that Catfish Zone has the BEST CATFISH plates in the ENTIRE STATE OF MISSISSIPPI! I’d be willing to put money on it against any other catfish plates in our great State.

I found this DIAMOND on a monthly trip from Tupelo to Jackson. I found it via Google Maps during a food search along my route. I looked the menu/phone number up online. Then called my order in when I was about 25 mins away from the restaurant. On my first call I had several menu questions. The gentleman that answered was very kind, patient, and knowledgeable of the menu. When I say he was knowledgeable about the menu/food…. I mean it. I basically gave him a menu pop quiz and he ACED it. I’m that person that asked random, detailed, and/or ingredient based questions like, “is the potato salad made with mayo or mustard? Does it have onions? So, yeah. He knew his business on every question I had. I later found out his name is Corey. He’s pretty much always there when I pick up food every month. You can tell he has a passion for food and working with the public. Being from out of town, and not knowing a soul in Winona…. I truly appreciate his efforts to always make me feel comfortable and welcomed. Now, on to the FOOD. Lord, Jesus, and All of Them!! AMAZINGLY GOOD! I usually get the 2 piece catfish filet plate with 2 side items. The catfish is always fried to perfection, HOT, crisp, seasoned perfectly, and it’s never “muddy” tasting. And then there’s the hush puppies!!! OH those lovely, moist, crisp outside, soft inside are fantastic! A good hush puppy is HARD to find…. Much less a perfect one. Catfish Zone’s are definitely at the top of the list! I’ve had a lot of different sides and have always liked them all. Haven’t had anything I didn’t like. It's not Bragging, if it's True. "Where you can't say no to The Zone because it's Good to The Bone!" I don't normally like catfish, but the CF Zone change my mind , the Owner and staff was very attentive to us, the food was fresh and hot and delicious, the restaurant was clean, the wait was excellent, the price Good, homemade everything, and I will visit again soon, Y'all don't sleep on the Catfish Zone...
