Winston Diner & Drive-thru — Restaurant in Winston

Went to the drive up last Thursday and spent over $30 which was great with the amount of burgers we got and that included well over a 20% tip. Had to repeat my order a few times before she got it then she forgot my part of the order. I've worked in customer service for over 15 years so I know things happen. No big deal. Called when I got home to let them know and i was driving back through in about 15 mins to grab my missing food and the lady answered the phone with " I'll take your order in a min " followed by her leaving me on hold for over 20 mins while I sat there listening to her go back and forth with people. Finally decided it wouldn't do any good with how mad I was to stay on the phone any longer and went somewhere else to get food. Very disapointed with the lack of service and really hope they get it all figured out. Would be a shame to watch that place go...

I dont know where to begin. We were very shocked at our food. Meat on hamburgers were thin, hard and burnt on edges. Bun was tough. The bacon ranch was horrible barely any cheese on it. I ate the bacon and the the rest away. Chicken strips cold on inside crispy and tough, on the outside. Those went in the trash also. Sorry but worst chocolate milkshake ever. The girl at the window has mesh mask on. The really weird thing was they stood back and kept looking at us and laughing. Myself my daughter, son, son in law and 11 year old great grandson. It was very strange. Traveling through. First time eating somewhere and going somewhere since March 10th 2020. It was really a bummer and made us sad and rather disappointed in how we were looked at and both girls on cell phones texting. Sorry guys, but I'd rather eat at McDonald's, and wont eat there food...

When you walk into the Winston diner, you are greeted immediately by friendly staff. The walls are covered in reproduction signs and adverts, the floors with reproduction fab 50's tables and chairs. The food, however is the real deal! When was the last time you saw Frito pie on the menu! I had a proper chocolate malt, with the glass and the leftovers in the mixing cup. I ordered the bacon bleu burger with fresh cut fries. The bleu cheese was perfectly balanced with the red onions, bacon and chipotle sauce. The fries were, well, fresh cut, need I say more? Our server was attentive, friendly and efficient. In closing, I will say that when we are in the area, we will leave the beaten path (I-5), and drive the extra miles to experience this little gem...
