Went to Giovannis pizza on CGB tonight and will be the last time we go.
Positive: the young woman at the front was great.
We ordered a big mama 30" pie, mozzarella sticks, and a meatball sub, and 5 drinks for a total of $86.
Negative: Had to return the meatball sub bc the meatballs was so overcooked or microwaved that they were hard. As that was being remade I went to use the restroom, which was a disaster. Although it smelt clean and like bleach it looked as if they just sprayed the walls and left it in puddles along the floor. I returned and the sandwich is done and looked much better. As I turn my head to take a bite I see a dead German roach on a menu that was under the pizza pan that had just been spunt around. That immediately made me stop eating the sandwich. I wish i took a picture before my husband took the menu to the counter with the dead roach on it and hands it to them. They take it and walk it behind to the kitchen wash it off and put it back. Never saying a word or apologizing.
I asked to speak to the manager and asked for a refund. (At this point we had ate 25% of the pizza) She called the owner who is out of town and he tells her no refund but to give me a $20off next visit. I am not returning to this establishment and declined the store credit. She kept saying there was nothing they could do about the dead roach on our table near our food and that they have people spray every month. Our group decided to leave immediately.
I do plan to make a formal complaint to the health inspector on Monday. (This is not to be confused with the Posner...
Read moreI'm a New Yorker looking for good pizza and this was far from it. The place looked like a dive. My boyfriend warned me about it but I wanted to try this out for myself with my daughter visiting me. We ordered a Buffalo chicken Stromboli and garlic knots. It came out looking like a calzone, there was no Buffalo taste, the chicken was chewy and some were hard telling me it was just frozen chicken. The sauce they gave us was watery and kinda pinkish telling me it was probably tart from being left in the fridge for awhile. Garlic knots, the dough was tough and chewy, not fluffy and tasty. Just garlic and seasonings with oil thrown on top. Very greasy. The pizza boxes were not even with their own name on it. Weird! Looks like they bought boxes from another pizzeria from another state. I shouldn't have tried this place just from the looks of it walking in, waste of money. The workers are just not presentable and looks like they don't take pride in the way they look. Shame, and they are feeding people. My goodness, please don't call your business from New York, not even close! The only pizzeria close to NY pizza is Little Italy in Avon Park, FL for me. Giovanni's Never...
Read moreSuper negative experience. I used the website’s service to place an order, but after ordering, I had an issue with my vehicle and couldn’t go pick up the order. I called the pizzeria, and they don’t offer refunds. I spoke to the so-called manager, who was extremely rude and discussed, She hung up the phone on me and refused to verify the information I was giving her, claiming that they had already received the order and prepared it by the time I called to inform them.
However, on the website, it gives you the option to choose a time, and it doesn’t specify a pickup time — it states the time to place the order, which means that’s when they are going to start preparing it. She refused to acknowledge that and didn’t even want to go to the website to check and confirm what I was saying so they could honor the refund.
So I ended up losing $31. They also told me to request a refund through the third-party platform they use for online orders, which is not Uber Eats or DoorDash, but a platform just for pizzerias. That platform also denied my refund.
I do not recommend this pizzeria at all — neither their service nor their customer...
