As I was passing through Winterport, I decided to stop in for dinner, as I've heard a couple people mention that the food here was decent. Upon arriving inside, there were no menus aside an old outdated menu, in which I was told prices may vary a little.
I was helped by a younger woman in taking my order, whom was very pleasant. I placed my order and headed outside to wait. About 15 minutes later, I went back in to get my order. A different gentleman cashed me out (the price was nearly double what the menu had stated, quite a price difference), and handed me my food. As I looked over the counter, 1 of the women working in the back, 1/2 of her butt cheeks were exposed due to shorts that were barely fitting. This doesn't bother me at all, but those who are more sensitive to something like that should be forewarned.
I got back into my vehicle, and opened the food (ordered buffalo chicken tender with fries basket, but I guess they no longer offer it as a combo basket and had to purchase it all separate, which didn't realize upon ordering)
The fries were over cooked, extremely salty, and mushy. The chicken tenders were ok at best, tasted a bit like the fryer oil. There was also a container of Cole slaw in the box, but no fork or spoon was given, and I didn't know it was in there, so ended up trying to eat with my fingers. Needless to say, save yourself the finger food mess, it wasn't good at all.
Now, I understand they are a pizza place, and when pizza places offer chicken tenders, that's usually my go to, as who can mess those up? If it is messed up, I question the rest of their food also. I will eventually give them another shot, and try their pizza and do an update when that day comes, but for right now, I wasn't very pleased overall, maybe just an off...
Read moreNot one to make a bad review because everyone has a bad day and makes mistakes but looking through these reviews it seems to be a pattern. We’ve ordered from this place three times the first time was fine no issues the second time they gave us a wait time of 20 min ended up being a 40 min wait and just by walking in you could tell there was no organization the food came out good that time as well. Well last night we placed a take out order they told us they would call ten min before the order was done it would probably be about 30 min so 40 min rolls around and we figured they were just super busy so we’d go and wait there. We get there and they never placed our order .. we ordered a pizza and loaded fries came to $50 and after waiting forty min there was no money taken off due to their mistake. We ended up waiting another 30 min or so and the girl at the counter said here is a cookie for the inconvenience we will do better next time the people are friendly enough but that’s not enough to get our service back also the cookie was rock solid and pizza was so greasy it pooled up under the pizza and sopped through the cardboard box 😐. Unfortunately will not be getting our...
Read moreI'm impressed. I really wanted a pastrami sub, or grinder as they call it here in the Northeast?
I did not get get my pastrami sub as it wasn't available. However, upon recommendation of the very helpful staff, I did have a fantastic Philly cheesesteak. My wife had an unadulterated one, and I modified mine with no green peppers, added jalapenos and mayo. Super yum!!
The fries were a bit overcooked, so some were greasy Chiclets. If forced to complain about my wonderful Philly, it would be that a part of the bun was toasted too much.
The restaurant had a bit of a monopoly as their only competition for miles is a gas station. However, if ever off the beaten path, you've definitely got to try this place.
There is a little book sales corner as well that makes you feel at home... Though maybe not Starbucks, I liked.
The photos don't do justice as there is ample seating though small . For a blast of the past, there is a Ms. Pac-Man which costs a quarter as it did when it came out in the 80's. I'm still bad at...
