J&M Restaurant and Bar — Restaurant in Wolcott

Tonight was my 1st time at this restaurant.. We had a huge family dinner to celebrate a birthday. The food was good the waitresses were very nice and attentive even with the amount of people in our party. We were told we could not sit in the dining area because there were no other customers at the time we arrived, so we took up 6 tables and a booth in the lounge area. When it came time to pay we asked for separate checks and were told they don't do that, wasn't a problem we could figure out our amounts and all pay the bill together. Then we were told we couldn't use debit we needed to pay the bill in cash so I had to run to the atm.. Our bill was almost $600. When we were going over the bill we realized we were being over charged for a few items and we mentioned it to the waitress who brought out the owner. He was extremely disrespectful and said the menu prices have changed over the last 2 years but he never made the changes on the menu itself. We explained that he should change his prices on the menu he hands to his customers and that we would be paying the menu listed prices. He then yelled and said "fine pay what you think is fair and get out and never come back!" We paid our full bill tipped our waitresses and definitely would never...

I just left this place tonight and ordered a seafood fried platter. I asked for extra shrimp and never received it on the platter also the salad was wilted. Our waitress was Regina and I've come to this place many times, however she was extremely rude. When asking for separate checks and her words "We don't do separate checks" then upon leaving she took a very long time before coming back to our table. Upon am of us giving her our debits she came back with three debits and three checks stating. "You guys can figure it out and literally walked away with a displeasing attitude. I've never felt so dissatisfied in the many years of coming to J&M. Then when we asked for Bobby the manager it was told to us by one staff he was present then several others stated he wasn't there. I also was charged $5.00 extant dollars however with the attitude of the waitress, I decided not to because she seemed very intimidating and some of the staff seemed as though it wasn't an option to speak about the service. As much I've come yo thus restaurant. I would not recommend anyone to come here with the service I've received to day....

My family and I have been going here for over 5 years. We used to go often before Covid, and then we switched to take out. We went back today for the first time and sat down. I should have taken pics. We ordered an app and she never brought it. She didn't charge us for it so we never said a thing. 2. My niece ordered fish and chips. Fish sticks would have looked better. Her fries were warm not hot, and the fish had no taste - it was BLAND. It was not like how you'd expect fish and chips to look. 3. We asked for water for my son. She brought a pitcher and was going to pour the water in his glass that chocolate milk had been in. 4. We waited a minimum of 20 minutes for our meal to come after the salad/soup came out quick. The people who came in 20 minutes after us had their food, 1 minute after ours. 5. We asked for a box and she gave the other table boxes before us - even though we asked. She even went and got them tape and all. I wish I could go back and tip even less than what we did. I was being generous and that's why they got as much as they did.
