Food is awesome. Service is super sweet and friendly but only fair. There seems to always be confusion when asking questions, no matter who serves you, but it's overall a good experience and the staff is always polite and kind. Everything we've had has been fantastic. Cheese and onion enchiladas, salsa, queso are all delicious tex-mex favs and top-notch. Checking out is a bit awkward as the owner is the only one that services the register and you often have to wait for them to come out from the kitchen and customers stand around waiting...often customers get checked out-out of sequence/order which I've observed causes some frustation "I've observed the frowns of 'I was here first' on many many occasions. Atmosphere is an odd mix of Asian, Mexican/fiesta, and cowboy western...kind of looks like multiple restaurants have previously been there and each time a new one moves in they just kind of adopt and add to the decor lol. But it's clean, quiet, and most importantly the...
Read moreNot sure how this restaurant has received any good reviews. The "salsa" has to be from a can. Tasted more like tomato paste. We ordered their spicy salsa, which was the same table salsa with something added to try and make it hot. It was just as horrendous as the regular salsa. A friend of mine ordered an appetizer and carnaasada. He requested medium rare. It came out WAY overcooked, and the appetizer came out long after the meal. I ordered a f Fajita salad which came out after all the other orders. Keep in mine i was the second one to place my order. My frien told the serv that his carnaasada was overcooked. The lady cooking proceeds to come out and say, the temperature wasn't on the tick, and don't pay for the meal. Will NOT go back, nor will recommend this...

My silly kids ordered burgers and chicken strips and got a real burger (not a frozen patty) and freshly cut, breaded, and fried pieces of chicken. Some places load their food with salt, not this place. In my opinion, salt can always be added, but not taken out, and I appreciate that I could actually taste my food.
The staff was pleasant and prompt, and the owner, a proud 2nd generation restauranteur, was a lovely man who gladly customized my husband's order and even let my kids pick some music. If you are passing through Wolfe City, or even if you aren't, it's worth a drive to enjoy El Arbol. We can't...
