We were very much looking forward to dining at Trenta tonight. We arrived early for our 6pm reservation. The restaurant was mostly empty. There was no one to greet us at the hostess stand. We waited a good 10 minutes before anyone passing by acknowledged us and sat us at our table. Once seated we were given menus. Our waitress was very nice. She asked if we wanted water. Yes please. She disappeared. Took a while for her to return with the waters. We ordered drinks. They were served one by one, sporadically. We were only 5 people at the table. 3 cocktails, 1 beer & 1 soda. Don’t understand why it took 20 minutes to get the final beverage served. Waitress disappeared again. Don’t know where she kept going bc the restaurant was empty. Seriously. Only 2 other tables in our dining room with us. I understand there are other rooms to this establishment, but the place was quiet. Not even music playing in the background. The table in front of us was not happy with their meal and commented to their waitress as they sent something back. Our waitress returned and asked to take our order. I asked if there were any specials (as I had already heard another waitress offer specials to the guests at her table when she handed them their menus) & her response was “oh yeah, the specials, thanks for reminding me”. Really?? We ordered 3 apps, a charcuterie board that was about half pickled vegetables, a Caesar salad with barely any dressing, and a special, spicy alote over rice. The waitress told us it was spicy. We were just not prepared for the atomic spice. Two of us were coughing and trying to find out waitress to ask for more water. Did I mention there was another long wait for our apps? In the meantime, the table to our right sent food back as well. The chef came out to speak with the couple and asked what the issue was. Good on the chef. The couple was elderly and the woman was a bit shaky. She did not give specifics as to what she didn’t like about her meal, and the chef kept asking for details, but the elderly woman didn’t respond. At about 7:20 our dinners finally arrived. Did I mention we had a 6pm reservation? My daughter’s cacio e pepe was quite bland with no cheese and barely any pepper. My son was happy with his duck breast. I had the special, halibut wrapped in prosciutto. It was bland with not much texture, but the spinach risotto it was atop was very nice. Two orders at the table were seared scallops. Identical dishes, looked like two very different items. One seared, one charred. Throughout the meal we had to keep reminding the waitress to clear plates and empty glasses and to refill water. Wondering if she was trained? Sadly we will not be returning to Trenta. It’s a shame because we were looking for a new regular...
Read moreI had the privilege of dining at Trenta this Sunday, on Mothers Day. This was my first experience dining at this lovely restaurant. The moment I entered, I was immediately impressed with the ambiance and aesthetically pleasing charm this restaurant has to offer. Trenta has a gorgeous bar, separate from the dining room, rustic decor, beautiful tablecloths, napkins and small details like fresh flowers and lit candles on each table. We had a reservation for Mother’s day and we were promptly greeted by Jill, who was so warm and welcoming. Our server, Felicia was wonderful! She was very attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. She answered our questions thoughtfully and presented the specials upon arrival. We ordered two signature cocktails: a gin fizz and watermelon cucumber spritzer that were made by the fabulous bartender, Sara. They were absolutely delicious and garnished beautifully with tiny flowers, perfect for a warm spring day. We decided to start our meal with the Thai Mint Shrimp, (which were huge) and so tasty! The mint, coconut and chili peanut dressing was sublime! For entrees, we ordered the slow roasted rib with horseradish whipped potato and borsin asparagus, the smoked salmon gnocchi and homemade mushroom fettuccine. We shared our entrees to savor all the amazing flavors. The ribeye was cooked to perfection and served with a mouthwatering au jus. Rob and Bill exceeded my expectations both in creative choices and presentation. It was truly a perfect meal. Our dessert was a chocolate raspberry torte- the portion was extremely generous and the presentation was even better! Served with a delicious compote, each bite was memorable. The fudge-like texture was rich and satisfying. Thank you, Trenta for providing a superior fine dining experience that we did not take for granted. This restaurant is absolute perfection, if you are looking for an upscale, creative restaurant in charming...
Read moreWe had a reservation for a birthday celebration and the staff was very friendly which was appreciated. However, we sat for thirty minutes before our server came to take our drink order. We then sat another thirty minutes before receiving only half of our drinks. After receiving a new server temporarily, things were looking up. Unfortunately it then took quite a while for our server to return and take our dinner order. At this point it had been over an hour and we no longer wanted appetizers. Our server even asked “Are you still interested in food?”. When our food arrived, we were informed that one of our orders was not prepared and we needed to wait another five minutes. A member of our table ordered the salmon and it came out raw and a cold (interior temperature). The person that ordered the salmon ended up throwing up the few bites they had on the side of the road during their 45 minute drive home. No one at the table (eight people) made it more than five bites into their meals before stopping. We were at the restaurant for two hours with poor service, slow drinks, and awful food. Not once did the manager come to talk to us after the first thirty minutes and our own server avoided our table and forced everyone else to pick up her slack. We paid the entire bill and tipped with no accommodations made, but no one will ever be returning. As we were exiting a member of our party must not have closed the door all the way, resulting in a member of staff cursing at us and flipping us off. As someone that works in the fine dining restaurant industry, I completely understand what’s it’s like to experience a very busy night, but NEVER has a table of mine sat for an hour with half their drinks and...
