Burger Bar — Restaurant in Wood River

Was there last night. Took forever to even place a drink order. Finally got to place drink and food order. About 30-40 minutes later my boyfriend received his burger. And hour later the waitress brought my order out even though I had already canceled my order as I had to be somewhere within 10 minutes. As I was talking to a friend of mine one of the owners came to ask me if there was a problem with my order. I explained to her why I canceled it, and as I was speaking to one of the OWNERS the waitress Whitney said to me and I quote, “Well it’s not like the restaurant is completely full or something.” I said her that and I wasn’t speaking to you. Whitney then walked away with her middle finger up to flip me off in front of the whole CROWDED restaurant. I left to attend to my other commitment and received a message from a friend who told me that Whitney was telling other friends of ours that she about had to knock me out! I went back over to the restaurant and spoke with both owners. They were great and assured me that it would be taken care, however I will not return to this establishment as long as people like are working there. Also several people had problems with their tickets including people being charged twice on their cards for meals...

A friend raved about this place, so we put it on our list of places to go. They have a kind of standard menu with some twists.

One of my party had the wings. He ordered them without sauce, so I asked for it on the side... and was charged extra for the sauce. Not a huge extra cost, but come on. He did like the wings, though.

Another had the Southwestern turkey burger. It was good as well.

I had the horseshoe burger. The fries helped set it apart, although I think it could be improved by grilling the onions instead of being raw. Still, quite tasty.

Service was ok, but a little slow and a little on the unfriendly side. Just a matter of fact type of service. Pretty sure I never saw her smile once, and they really didn't seem too busy.

Maybe the server was a little put off by the temperature in the restaurant. It wasn't hot, but it wasn't cool either. It was stuffy. Like the air was on, but just enough to keep the place open.

This place was so close to getting 5 stars across the board, and I have to wonder if we were there on an off night. It was good, but just not 5 star good like our friend would give. So if you are in the area, give...

Went last night and Besides the issue of the waitress Whitney getting into it last night with a customer and flipping her off I check my bank statement this morning and realized they charged me twice for two separate meals. I understand we came in a large group( jeep club to support small businesses) but for 1 another lady who from what I understood didn’t even work there came by and collected my check and card and then the waitress Whitney was walking around holding up my card asking whose card did it belong to after they already ran it because they didn’t know… excuse me?!? This was my first and last time ever supporting this establishment the waitress Whitney has a nasty unprofessional attitude and honestly if you can’t handle large crowds or being under pressure don’t be a waitress, you knew in advance we were coming and how big of a group… second don’t play with ppls money, now I’m curious whose check I paid for because I only signed...
