The Cheesecake Lady — Restaurant in Wood River

Deb, the owner of "The Cheesecake Lady", did a phenomenal job creating the cake for our reception this past Saturday. We got several compliments from guests on her creativity with our cake, and everyone got super excited when they found out it was cheesecake. :) She even set up the cake at our reception herself to make sure nothing happened to the cake between leaving her kitchen and making it to the table.

I know there will be some naysayers who point out that my name is misspelled in the photo I post. To clarify - my husband and I did most of our communication over phone calls, so I think if it's especially important to you, you can send her details over text or meet with her in person and write things out. She is very approachable, so that's a non-issue. We even thought it was funny, because the first time we met, he mispronounced my name.

SHORT SUMMARY: Cheesecake is delicious and these cakes are gorgeous, so if you're going for taste and appearance, "The Cheesecake Lady" is the way to go. Thank you...

So, I'd been reading/hearing about this place for quite some time, and was finally able to stop in. It did NOT disappoint. The inside is a bit small, and there is no where to sit, but that is the only "negative". And it's not even a negative. The woman working the counter was possibly the most friendly person I've ever encountered at a place of business. Even if the food was terrible (it's not), I would go back just because of her. She's passionate about what she does, and it shows. But we all come here for cheesecake, and, oh baby, was it delicious. My crew got a decent variety and no one was complaining. We also tried the cannoli, and, IMHO, they stole the show. The turtle cheesecake was superb, but that cannoli...... There also Oreo Bites (probably got the name wrong), and they were amazing too. If you've nit been here, go. You'll be supporting a small business, eating amazing cheesecake and cannolis and dealing with the friendliest staff...

If you are in need of desserts for an event this is your first and last stop! She catered the dessert buffet at my wedding on the 27 and everything was phenomenal! We over ordered in hopes of having some left overs but the desserts were so good our guest devoured all the extras! I could not recommend them enough as not only are the cakes, cookies, brownies, etc all top of the line the process of catering to a venue was flawless! I can not recommend this...
