So I just started using too good to go app and I was happy to see this bakery on there. The item said surprise bag so I thought I'd get some cookies and maybe some pastries. Granted it does say surprise, but I didn't expect to get so much bread and like four donuts that were just thrown into a bag as if the person paying didn't matter because it was less than a normal full price order. There was no wax paper separating the donuts, and there was just glaze all over the bag. They weren't placed in their nicely, and the package was prepared before I even got there. The weird thing is their shelves were full with pastries, and they were about to close so logically to me that means that they're not giving fresh pastries every day. As some on the comments have stated that their items have been stale, and I can kind of see why that would be. As I went there right before closing, the whole counter was still filled with pastries. If you're going to do an app like too good to go, the whole point of it is that yes we're paying less, but we're also preventing you from throwing away food that you would have to throw away at the end of the day and assuming that you are a bakery I think most customers would assume that their baked goods are fresh that day, but clearly that's not the case . As I stated earlier, I was excited to try this bakery because I have been here before and honestly, I've spent a lot of money so I was like wow for a fraction of the cost I can still get a few sweets, but no, it was mostly all bread which is defeating the purpose because earlier in the day I had went to Rahway bagels using the same app and I already had a ton of bagels/bread/carbs. Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't expect to get so much bread from a pastry shop. Also, if you're gonna give out the majority of it as bread, then you should change the label on the app. Instead of surprise bag, change it to bread bag. You could have at least given some cookies or an eclair or some pastry items. Remember, even though we're paying less, some people are actually also trying your bakery for the first time so it would be a good sales/marketing strategy to provide a decent Surprise bag, despite the person not paying full price. Also please use wax paper for donut separation and not throw the items into a bag like we are getting scraps that fell on the floor, especially when it's a doughnut with icing. In addition, the girl at the counter completely ignored me and granted she was dealing with one person in front of me, but she didn't even smile or look at me or say hey I'll be right with you and another of your associates came out and nobody acknowledged me. I saw another comment that said the same thing and it was almost an identical scenario, because right after I came in, another man came in and she greeted him and said something to him along the lines of I'll be right with you while completely ignoring me. I worked Customer Service for over 30 years and there's a 5 foot 10 foot rule and that should be taught to your staff and implemented. Sadly using the app has been a good experience so far but this location was a disappointment. I will also agree with others that since the renovation the service has gone down tremendously and the product. I will say the one Boston cream they did give me was very good, but I ended up throwing out all the other donuts because how many donuts can a person eat in one day unless I have a big family and as I said the glaze and everything was all over the bag because they were not packaged properly and just thrown in the bag like they were scraps. I know you guys...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of visiting D’orsi Bakery, and I cannot express how wonderful my experience was. From start to finish, it was evident that this bakery is a hidden gem in Port Reading. First and foremost, the food was outstanding. I opted for their signature pork roll, egg, and cheese on a plain bagel, and it exceeded all expectations. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the bagel itself was fresh and toasted to perfection. Every bite was a delight, and I could tell that the ingredients were of top-notch quality.
What truly sets D’orsi Bakery apart, though, is the warm and inviting atmosphere created by the owner, Steve. It's rare to find an owner so invested in creating a welcoming environment for guests.
The bakery's interior has recently been renovated and it was charming, making it the ideal spot to relax and savor their delicious treats. The staff was attentive and courteous, and the service was prompt, adding to the overall positive impression. Having tried several bakeries in the area, I can confidently say that D'orsi Bakery stands out as one of the best. Their commitment to delivering outstanding food and exceptional customer service is truly commendable.
If you're in Port Reading/Woodbridge, I highly recommend paying a visit to D’orsi Bakery. Whether you're craving a delightful breakfast or just want to indulge in some delectable baked goods, this place has it all. I look forward to my next visit and trying more of their delectable offerings.
Thank you, D’orsi Bakery, for providing such a memorable experience. Keep up the...
Read moreThis bakery has dramatically gone down hill since they closed and renovated. Their red velvet cupcakes were the absolute worst taking cupcake. They put cinnamon in them, red velvet does not have cinnamon in them. There were tried several times, thought the first times was an oops when being made, they weren’t. My husband just went there the other day for some stuff for Easter. The cheese babka, sticker on the bag said cheese, nope it was a plain babka. So someone messed that job up as everyone was disappointed on Easter morning when we went to eat it and the wrong babka was in the bag. He also got an egg shaped cake. After having a piece of this cake, we will no longer go to this place. The red roses on the cake had ran and it was a huge red streak on each one. The cake was extremely dry and tasted funny, it was actually freezer burnt. I am beyond words that a cake would be frozen and not fresh, it tasted freezer burnt and that happens when the cake isn’t properly wrapped and stored. So after this experience, we will never walk in to this place again due to this most recent experience. I will gladly drive the extra time to go to another bakery, at least I know the stuff we get will be not only correct, but fresh and not frozen and...
