I’ve debated writing this review for a long time because I would never want to hurt a small business but the experience I had here was truly upsetting and it ruined my day. I was so excited to try the food here after looking through the reviews. The images online looked great and when we walked into the restaurant it smelled great. But upon being seated, it was almost impossible to hear anything or talk over the loud music. The cafe is definitely very cute and well decorated but with the music blaring, my group and I found ourselves repeating our orders 3 times with the server needing to lean on to our table to hear us. But I could have looked past the music if it wasn’t for the fact the food is what ruined my experience. Upon receiving my food, I was extremely disappointed for the price I paid. Firstly, I ordered lemon ricotta pancakes alongside other members of the table due to how highly recommended they were, but everyone single one of us are convinced that they gave us regular buttermilk pancakes. There was not a hint of lemon flavor in my pancake and definitely no ricotta. I also ordered some side dishes that were unseasoned, overpriced, and mediocre at best. Also while our server was attentive, he seemed forgetful and a bit awkward despite the fact he was only serving our table and another patron behind us. The chef made his rounds visiting all the tables but seemed to skip over ours and two others. I didn’t make anything of this until another person pointed out that they felt the same. It seems that Estime’s has many regulars that keep the place in business and spread a good word but when it comes to down the price paid and the service and product received in return, it’s truly disappointing. My group and I left feeling very unsatisfied and it hurt to pay the bill because of how unfulfilled we were. Estime's Cafe in Colonia isn't just another breakfast spot; it's a celebration of Haitian culture and culinary artistry on a plate. From the moment you step inside, the warm aroma of spices and the friendly smiles of the staff transport you to a world of delicious possibilities.

The menu at Estime's is a symphony of fresh ingredients and bold flavors. I dove headfirst into the Pastrami Egg Benedict, a unique twist on the classic dish that had my taste buds doing a joyful jig. The pastrami was perfectly seasoned and tender, harmonizing beautifully with the creamy hollandaise and perfectly poached egg.

But the true star of the show was the Fluffy Lemon Ricotta Pancakes. Now, I'm not usually a pancake person, but these were revelatory. Light and airy, bursting with zesty lemon zest and ricotta's creamy goodness, they were a revelation. Each bite was a cloud of happiness, and I dare you to find someone who wouldn't be won over by them. (Seriously, I am not a pancake person, and even I'm singing their praises!)
