Waitress was over the bar on her customer service and ability to observe the table. As far as the food goes. I had the seafood pastabake. It was tasty, however I'm not exactly one to leave it at that.
Carmine's Seafood Pasta Bake: 19.99 Flavour profile was, creamy along the lines of alfrado however not so traditional in it's 'alfrado' flavor. I would say it went more the garlic chedder profile (assuming the cheese was a white cheddar). The flavor profile as a whole was an overly cheese creame 'goo' pasta which isn't going as far as to say it's bad, just lazy. My knowledge on traditional Italian could use some brushing up, but last I checked they don't use cheese as a scape goat. I think we can all agree on that. Anyways let's adress the content of the pasta bake. I counted three whole shrimps. I can't recall ever actually picking out a chunk of whole lobster or crab which were supposed to be obvious elements of the dish from what the description lead me to believe. The shrimp I do recall running into didn't have any flavor to it other than the 'shrimp' flavor you can get from picking up chilled cooked shrimp from your local seafood deli. After a nights sleep and a little bit of thought on the dish I had there in my personal cook book I concluded I didn't learn anything from it, and didn't find anything unique about it. When I spend uptick of $20-30 on a dish for myself I expect to be captivated by some element in it. Unfortunately I was not and my conclusion of the dish and it's over all flavor to be lazy. I don't enjoy paying $19.99 on a dinner special for it to taste lazy. A cook should attempt to captivate another cook in my opinion.
I won't speak on behalf of the chicken parmesan my wife had.
In closing, Carmine's appears to offer average quality American Italian food with an over the top experience from the staff which can often in the restaurant industry over compensation for a lack of passion in the kitchen. Katie my waitress for the evening was absolutely exceptional and I believe she would have more potentially productive and creative opportunity in an establishment where the customers can taste...
Read moreWent to Carmine's a few weeks Ago we made reservations table for 4 was waiting for us soon as we walked in the door that was a pleasant surprise, Great atmosphere, Our waitress was very friendly but a little slow to bring us refills and water. My wife ordered chicken Alfredo, She is very picky so it was not her favorite, I had the baked penne with meatballs, The price was a bit high but it was one of the best dishes I had in a long time.
I will be giving a second review as tonight is our 25th wedding anniversary and we are choosing to spend it at Carmine's April 17th. So I am crossing my fingers that we have the same good service and quality food going to try something different. The burgers looked really good coming out last time and I heard fantastic things about their wings. Both will be tried to night. Also great that they have live entertainment. Review part 2 Went back to Carmine's April 17th as I stated earlier. Sam was our waiter, He was extremely friendly and took very good care of us. He was also in the process of training a new waitress in. That didn't slow him down at all, Wife had the Cowboy Burger, I had the hot daigo. Both were very good we also ordered a 1/2 order of Buffalo wings, Their wings are very tasty and they are huge. I only have one complaint. Why can't the wings be part of the happy hour $3 off? Other than that it was yet another pleasant experience at Carmine's which has set us up for a 3rd visit and hopefully...
Read moreMY RESPONSE TO YOUR RESPONSE: To start off. I’ve updated the photos for your reference. The calamari def comes with green onions which I expressed I didn’t want at all Thanks for your response… please keep in mind that it’s a review of your food and not of your service so your perception of me… is it because I am a a (women of color) or is there something In particular that your waiter can pinpoint that would show I wanted free food please feel free to share..what were the signs that I wanted free food:)…. What a statement. But to be very clear I DONT WANT FREE FOOD I JUST WANTED FOOD THAT I CAN EAT Sadly though that wasn’t the case…. Plus Photos don’t lie as you can see :)
Waiter was good, ordered the calamari, fried chicken and the Italian chicken. Asked for the calamari without any sauce or toppings I think the menu said it came with like a banana pepper topping. Sadly came with onions and was super salty. The wing sizes are true to size but sadly was undercooked and could not request for it to be fried more since it was already brought out there were parts to it undercooked which I should have expected as they brought it out super quick :( . The wine was the only good thing sadly a total of 60 worth of food that I’m not going to eat. Still...
