I would like to start this review, stating that I really don't like leaving negative reviews. My experience here today was an utter disappointment. I can not think of a nice or more honest way to express myself. I was really looking forward to our lunch or early dinner here.
The good: Upon walking in, my first impressions were very good. The restaurant was very spacious and very clean looking. No crowd, so the atmosphere was perfect for some conversation and just chilling. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our waitress was prompt, polite and was everything a waitress should be.
Now the bad: The whole meal. My wife and I both ordered the 4 piece Winner Winner Chicken Dinner (their name for it, not mine :)), with 2 sides. We chose Onion Rings and ROASTED sweet potatoes. We love our sweet potatoes for sure. Not today tho. Our meal arrived in a reasonable amount of time. We were presented with 4 pieces of chicken, that must have come from a big chicken. The pieces were huge. I was immediately haunted by the puddle of oil draining from the biggest piece, which was easily 2 inches across. The breading was TOTALLY soaked in oil. The meat underneath was still quite oily, but did taste pretty good otherwise. If deep fried and drained properly, I am absolutely sure this would have been great chicken. Not much to say about the onion rings. They were like the chicken. Could have been good if properly fried and drained as well, tho nothing extra special, just nice sized onion rings. Oh we were looking forward to the roasted sweet potatoes, probably more than the chicken. What we were served looked like the frozen diced sweet potatoes that come frozen in a steamer bag from the grocery store. I am sure that is what they were. They appeared to be just microwaved and served with a light sauce. They were not browned or baked or roasted in any way. My wife said she could not stomach the oil from any more than the one piece of chicken she choked down. Her thoughts were more pointed than mine. She just said it was disgusting. She suggested stripping the breading, a light boil to get rid of the oil and maybe then it would be a treat for our dog.
Now, I realize that this review has been brutally honest. This could have been a passable or maybe even good meal that was priced very reasonably, had the fried the chicken and onion rings been properly fried and drained. The sweet potatoes, even store bought frozen could have squeaked by if they had actually been roasted, or browned by some method like a few minutes in the oven. I feel that had we ordered something off the menu that was not deep fried or "roasted", the whole experience may have been positive.
My advise would be that you may want to give this place a chance, but pass on the above said items.
You missed the boat on this one Bierhaven....
Read moreWe had a very bad experience here. I’ve been with my girlfriend for a year and a half and I’ve never seen her get upset over a restaurant experience. She was livid.
The food took almost an hour to come out and when it did, one of the people in our group was given someone else’s and my girlfriend wasn’t given a meal at all. After this happened, they took the incorrect dish back to the kitchen and returned with it, trying to give my girlfriend the dish that was already eaten out of by somebody else.
We had to wait another 20 minutes to get the new food. Nobody in the group got their sides with their meal.
The owner of the restaurant came out and said they weren’t going to give us the meal for free because “she ate the remade dish” Was she supposed to just starve? He also said that he didn’t know that someone else had eaten out of the dish and “would have never returned it” if he did. But someone did eat out of the dish and he returned it. Our waitress Amber was informed that the person took a bite of the food before she brought it back to the kitchen. Even if he didn’t know and returned it by accident, wouldn’t he then apologize after finding out and take money off of our bill or give us a gift card or SOMETHING.
I’ve gotten free dishes for minor mess ups at other restaurants so many times, it’s common practice to give out a free meal in that case. We had countless issues and the owner actively argued with us to save $15. It was extremely rude.
This was by far the worst experience I have had at a restaurant in a...
Read moreThis was our first time visiting and were very disappointed. We made a 12:30 reservation for the Prince themed brunch the day after our wedding with a group of friends. They were obviously busy, yet our server Jordyn had zero sense of urgency the entire time we were there. Our coffee was cold, and we had to remind her about a shot of Bailey's, to which she replied "oh yeah, I have to go get it" and then waited 20 minutes for it. 3 people never got coffee refills, I had to ask her for them. After waiting almost an hour for our food, only one meal and a side of hash browns came out. Jordyn said "let me check on the rest of your meal." We waited another 25 minutes for our food and everything was cold. My husband sent his over hard eggs and rock hard croissant back because he ordered them over medium. The bowls had burnt bacon in them and absolutely no sausage. We never saw our server after we got our food, so we had no one to tell that our food was cold. No manager came ever to our table, another server finally checked on us and we just asked for the bills. All around it was a very disappointing visit, which is unfortunate because we really enjoy the other location. We most likely won't come back here or recommend it based on our...
