Wayback Burgers — Restaurant in Woodland

Giving this one a full five stars. If you've never been, this is one of those "all the toppings" type burger joints where you get to build your burger from the ground up. We ordered two singles ($6.19 each), a kids' cheeseburger meal ($5.99, included fries and a super small drink), and a "Cheeeesy Burger" ($4.99, no charge for the extra "EEEEs"). We also ordered onion rings ($5.99), tater tots ($4.99), and we couldn't help but try the deep-fried mac & cheese bites ($5.99).

The burgers were great. The patties were well seasoned and nicely cooked. Everyone was happy with their choices and the execution of their meals. The "Cheeeesy Burger" was buttery, rich, and loaded with cheese. Worth the trip. The fries were pretty standard, but the tater tots and onion rings were very good. I'm not sure what brand they're using, but we enjoyed the flavor of the rings especially. The mac & cheese bites were the only bummer... $6 +tax for eight little nuggets felt a little like a "gotcha." We won't order that again, but glad we tried it.

Sauces! Get their Wayback Gold sauce. It's a sweet & sour mustard sauce that sent my wife back to her childhood in North Carolina. It's so good with tots, rings, or on a sandwich.

Regarding ordering, I'm a big fan of in-app ordering and drive-through pickup. It's a great way to make sure your order is correct, especially at a place like this where there are so many opportunities for the drive team to screw it up (I took drive-through orders in my youth). The ordering experience was easy and the food was fresh and ready when we picked it up. The people were very nice as well....

After taking my daughter to a daddy daughter dance, she was extremely hungry and craving a burger. So we went to wayback since it was close. We got to the counter at 8:35 pm. The young lady at the register was very withdrawn and obviously annoyed. We made order and sat down. It wasn’t until I heard the conversation behind the counter between the two young ladies working there that “ well, it looks like we are not getting out of here at nine “ that I realized they close at nine. She proceeded to bring our food to us in an agitated manner, in bags, and slammed them on the table and rudely says, “ have a good night “ and then shuts the closed sign off. I asked’ “ im sorry, are you closed?” She’s says yes and stomped off. I asked if we couldn’t eat in the restaurant and she said, “ no, we are closed”. So we ended up eating our greasy ass, cold, nasty burgers and fries in my brand new truck that we don’t eat in! Unnecessarily and unacceptable, had she told us when we arrived that they were closing at nine and we would not be allowed to eat in the restaurant, we would have gone somewhere else. The fact that we ordered our food, 25 minutes prior to closing, I’d think that we would have had enough time to get our food cooked and had enough time to eat by nine. I will never go back, I’m honestly pretty disgusted with the employees and how they treated me and my daughter, leaving my daughter questioning that whole scenario as a ten year who just had a great evening dancing and just wanted to sit down and...

Went with a couple friends today, and ordered a double bacon cheeseburger. When they brought us our food the server handed me a burger and said it was a double bacon cheeseburger i took 2 bites and realized there was no bacon. I went up to the counter and explained that when the server brought us our food she handed me a burger and said it was a double bacon cheeseburger. The employee i was talking to then said "maybe it was given to another person at the table" and asked me to go check my friends burger to see if it had bacon on it. At this point I was kind of just shocked so didn't really know what to say so I went and sat down to just dispute the credit card charge but there wasn't enough service in the restaurant to contact my bank. I then went back up to the counter and asked to talk to a manager but was told there wasn't a manager available. Normally I wouldn't leave such a long review but it was horrible customer service and likely very unmanaged staff that they could say there isn't a manager available. I highly recommend avoiding this business if you want to feel any value as a customer. They are not exactly cheap either so save your money and go...
