Ben & Janie's Ice Cream and Coneys — Restaurant in Woodstock Township

Rude service, slow, and not great.

This is usually our favorite ice cream shop, but we stopped by for light food and ice cream today and were sorely disappointed. We had to return to the window twice to get our food corrected and get silverware, and were met both times with rude service and having the screen slammed in our face.

The ice cream servings are usually generous, but food servings were small (BLT sandwich) and cold, missing toppings (baked potato). Service was extremely slow and we waited 15 minutes for our food.

Needless to stay, we did not stay for ice cream. It wasn’t worth the $31 we spent for food for our family. It appeared management was not on site (we’re so used to seeing the friendly owners) so perhaps that’s why we had such a poor service. I’m not sure we...

10/10. The ice cream is fantastic. I don't know if it's homemade or not, but I had a chocolate soft serve cone and it was the chocolatest ice cream I've ever had. It was about 8 shades darker then a regular chocolate cone.

The real highlight however is the Coney dogs. If you enjoy coneys, you know how frustrating it is when you order one and it has chili or sloppy Joe on it, etc. Not these guys. They use a real Coney Meat sauce and it's terrific. The only critique would be to let the kids working the counter that when it comes to Coney dogs and onions, more is more 😁 Genuinely the best Coney in the area though.

I absolutely love Ben & Janie’s!!! I run over there for food and ice cream every chance I get! Everything I’ve had has always been tasty and of the highest quality!! I always leave there full, and even leave with left overs for home, because the portions are so generous:) Along with the food, the staff is always friendly and efficient!
