UPDATE: I couldn't resist going back. It was better than the last time.
My new favorite authentic Mexican restaurant! Amazing all around. Everything was made fresh (nothing from a can that I could tell).
Chips and Salsa: Authentic. You get VERY fresh chips with a well thought out salsa that blends a soft but firm slap of spices and a rich with a blend of flavors that have you sitting in Mexico during a siesta.
Nachos Lindo Mexico with Steak: It's a well organized party of flavors like everyone was practicing for the fiesta of the year! The steak really complimented well with the fresh and rich refried beans and other toppings. Only thing I'd like better is having it all evenly distributed. Amazing, though!!
BURRITO A LA DIABLA (chicken, wet): It's a sharp clawed bear hug of potent flavor and spices. This is what sold me as my new favorite Mexican restaurant! The flavor AND spice were evenly distributed and balanced. It isn't slapped, but hugged tight throughout your mouth. The sauce on the outside was a wonder in itself of just the right amount of savory goodness. They said they can make it spicier! I'm going back for this and bringing friends!
LUNCH #13 (pictured): Even better than my previous dishes. Full of rich flavor and kept hot on an iron pan. You have way more than needed for the four tortillas provided! HIGHLY recommended.
Fried Ice Cream: My first time getting fried ice cream, so I have nothing to gauge it against. It was indeed cold ice cream in the center with a really tough crust. It was difficult cracking into it with a spoon in each hand, but it was good.
Sometimes, they have live music. On Mother's Day, they had a live band moving throughout the restaurant. No seat was safe and we came back a different day. Really depends on your preference, I guess.
If you like Mexican, this place is a MUST! Best place I know and it is reasonably prices for how great the food...
Read moreWe recently visited this restaurant and overall had a pleasant experience. For our meal, we decided to try the Chicken Chimichanga and the Pork Torta. To accompany our food, we ordered drinks — I had the fresa margarita, which had a refreshing strawberry flavor without being overly sweet, while my wife opted for the house margarita, which was classic and well-balanced.
As for the food itself, both dishes were solid but didn’t quite leave a lasting impression. I enjoyed the Pork Torta; the bread was nice, and the pork was tender and flavorful, though it lacked a certain standout element that would make it memorable. My wife had the Chicken Chimichanga, and while it was hearty and satisfying, she seemed to feel similarly — it was good, but nothing extraordinary that would have us rushing back specifically for it.
The service throughout the evening was friendly and efficient, especially considering it was a busy Friday night. Our server was attentive without being intrusive, and we appreciated the promptness with which our food and drinks arrived.
The interior of the restaurant was attractive and welcoming, with a lively and casual atmosphere. However, the section where we were seated was extremely loud, to the point where it was difficult to hold a normal conversation without raising our voices. It definitely took away a bit from the overall enjoyment of the evening.
In the end, we both agreed that while the food and service were certainly good, there are other places in the area that we personally prefer. Still, it was a pleasant enough outing and worth a try for those who don't mind a noisier dining...
Read more8-9-22 update: I had previously rated this place 5 stars. The food is excellent and, if you play by the unwritten rules, the service is quite good.
I'm now rescinding that because of my experience today. I walked through the door at 8:13pm with my two daughters and my business partner with the understanding that they were open until 8:30pm. I knew we'd need to be pretty quick about our meal and I was fine with that; I'm a very conscientious diner. Instead I was informed something to the effect of "we only seat reservations until 8:10pm."
Here's the deal, guys: if you only want to have people in your restaurant until 8:30, don't tell Google you're open until 8:30. That's not the way restaurants work and everybody knows it ESPECIALLY people in the restaurant industry.
This is easily remedied and I'll gladly change my review back. Simply either 1) change your stated hours to something that will have you shut down and heading out the door by 8:30, 2) no longer enforce this silly policy, or 3) expect your patrons to be coming through the door and sitting down to eat until the time you say you're closed.
Yes, it kinda sucks, but that's the restaurant industry. Most of us aren't going to take advantage of you. Also, and perhaps more importantly, I ate with my two daughters and business partner across the street at Tacos Caporal who was open an hour later and also has fantastic...
