Under normal circumstances I don't post reviews for a one off of bad service but it felt like my family had stepped into an episode of some bizarre reality show where the staff were trying to get us all to crack.
We went in last night around 7:45. The only other people in the restaurant were another couple. One of the cashiers was mopping and stacking chairs as though the inside was closed. Fine. No big deal. We just wanted a quick bite after visiting some light displays so we order and grab the only available seating for our group of six and we begin waiting.
For a solid five minutes you can hear the staff shouting back and forth about being out of quarter pounder patties before someone comes out to tell the guests before us that they are out. They'd been waiting a bit before this so naturally they're a little annoyed, especially after hearing the staff going back and forth, but they change their order and all seems to be well. Or so we thought. We all were sitting mesmerized as the girl working the drive thru continued to lift and set down bags of empty food. The fryer sat empty. Burgers were offered one at a time. It was almost like watching a group of people pretend to work at McDonald's.
During this time another handful of people came in and ordered as the cashier wore an almost certainly drug induced smile and insisted when asked that nothing was wrong despite the filling lobby and increasingly cagey customers. Finally the first couple stand and want a refund. I'd been waiting nearly a half hour and they were there before us so it's hard to say how long their patience stretched. It broke when as they were receiving a refund, the manager insisted they wouldn't get their money back for their beverages that they'd consumed during their wait for "fast" food.
By this point the rest of those waiting (besides the eight kids who came in for McCafe beverages that the too happy cashier was making at a snail's pace) headed to the counter for refunds. We received various amounts of change in inexplicable amounts. We assume we were also charged for our drinks but the math didn't add up and considering the rest of our experience, it was easier not to approach the subject. Surely someone would've imploded by that point.
After over thirty minutes, not a single of the six orders that had been placed inside had been filled. The fryer still looked empty as we wandered out, baffled about what had even just happened with the exception of my five year old who just shrugged and explained that apparently they just didn't have any food in that McDonald's. That or we can expect release forms for our experience on a new season of...
Read moreI go to McDonald's rather often and use the app consistently. Over time I've stacked up quite a few points and usually get something with them when I order. This specific McDonald's in particular seems to conveniently have 'an issue' accepting the app's codes time and again. Today was my third attempt over the last two weeks to use it there and yet again I was told 'that code doesn't work' with absolutely no offer to help figure out why and given the generic 'try again later' nonsense when I'm in the drive thru.
How strange that that exact same code worked 10 minutes later at the store off Main Street.
I genuinely believe this is a tactic being used by this location to avoid redeeming points to save money on their end. I don't have demonstrable proof of that, but it seems really suspicious that only this location has had consistent issues with the app while every other franchise uses it just fine 99% of the time. I get it that it's just free fries, or a free nugget set or whatever, but I take offense when they lie to my face and tell me that 'yeah we accept app codes' while also never actually following through with them.
To boot, half the time the food from this particular store just isn't that great. Like, I get it, it's McDonald's, but it'd be nice if the food was cooked properly and didn't taste like it was sitting out for 20 minutes.
I'd only bother coming here if you're desperate for a Big Mac and don't have the app, otherwise, save yourself the headache and go to the other McDonalds in town or just eat somewhere else. This place really needs to work on their...
Read moreI’m usually a regular here, but my visit on Sept. 6 was unacceptable. An employee insisted on taking my phone to “fix” my mobile order, which made me very uncomfortable. She also let the F-word slip during the exchange.
Our food was poor quality (stale fries, no ice in a drink, and a Big Mac with a tiny patty). I emailed the franchise owners three days ago and never received a reply. Customers deserve better service and consistency.
Update (Sept. 14, 2025):
McDonald’s corporate replied with a generic apology and told me to submit my complaint on their website. I’ve now had four communications about this issue, and more than a week later, I still have no resolution.
The problem wasn’t just the food — it was that an employee used profanity at the drive-thru and scrolled through my personal phone without permission. That’s unacceptable, and so far management has not taken responsibility or communicated a plan to address it.
I’m sharing this because I tried to resolve it privately first. I really hope McDonald’s can step up customer service and training at...
