I was excited to try what was touted as one of the restaurant's signature dishes: a medium-rare steak. With high expectations, I placed my order, anticipating a perfectly cooked meal that would leave a lasting impression. However, when my steak arrived, I was disappointed to find it cold. The temperature of a steak is crucial, especially when itās meant to be served medium rare, which should be warm and juicy, not just tepid.
When I brought this issue to the attention of my waitress, she was apologetic and attentive, which I appreciated. Itās always a good sign when the front-of-house staff is engaged and concerned about the guestās experience. However, my interaction with the cook, whom I believe is named Renea, left much to be desired. Instead of addressing my concern with professionalism and understanding, Renea asserted that medium-rare steaks are served at a warm temperature. While itās true that temperatures can vary slightly, the steak I received was not within the acceptable range for medium-rare.
My attempt to explain that I expected my steak to be served hotter was met with an extreme lack of courtesy. Reneaās response felt not only dismissive but also condescending, which was disappointing. Customer service in the food industry thrives on understanding and accommodating diners' preferences; unfortunately, this interaction felt far from that ideal.
Itās disheartening to have such a negative experience overshadow what could have been a delightful outing. The rudeness I encountered from the cook, combined with what was a poorly executed dish, has led me to reconsider my dining choices. While the staff members I interacted with were lovely, the kitchen's lack of responsiveness and the cook's abrasive demeanor have left a sour taste in my mouthāone that I cannot overlook.
In conclusion, while I truly enjoyed the opportunity to meet the staff and connect with the warm environment of the restaurant, my experience with the food and the cook has prompted me to rethink my future visits. Dining out is not just about the food; itās about the entire experience, and all elements should align to create a positive memory. I hope that the establishment takes this feedback to heart, as every restaurant has the potential to provide an exceptional experience with the right combination of quality food and outstanding service. For now, I will be exploring other dining options that...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI worked here back when this place was everyoneās go-to stop in Yamhill ā simple, solid, and welcoming. Lately, though, it feels like it's trying too hard to be upscale, and in the process, it's losing the charm that made it special. This is farm country. People around here arenāt looking for a boutique experience ā they just want good, honest food served with some down-home hospitality. If you're aiming to serve the local crowd, it helps to stay grounded in what they actually want.
Now, onto why Iām leaving this review: I ordered from you once last November and the food was actually pretty decent ā classic burgers done well. But since then, Iāve tried to call in an order three separate times, months apart, and no one ever picks up the phone. Thatās a real barrier when folks are just trying to grab a quick meal after a long day. It's frustrating, and honestly, a missed opportunity to serve the people whoāve supported this place from the start.
Also worth mentioning ā Iāve seen other reviews bringing up how the waitress comes across as rude or unfriendly. That might be overlooked in a big city where people are in and out, but it doesnāt sit well in a small town where people have lived here for generations and neighbors are considered family. In a place like Yamhill, word of mouth travels fast ā and it can either sink a business or help it thrive. None of us want to see a failed business we want to support you!
That said, Iām still willing to give it another try ā if someone will just answer the phone. I usually call on nights when I canāt cook, and itād be great to have this spot back in the regular...

Tried this place again. We left our food tried to say something to staff if you could actually see one but nothing. Food was terrible. Rosemary fries were cold and very tough. Pulled pork and pulled brisket sandwiches were so dry they choked ya when trying to swallow. It seames that if you want food your ignored and served sub standard. Thank goodness we also ordered there loaded tater tots otherwise we would had nothing to be able to eat and at least they were warm. Last time we will ever go there total waste of money.
Not a great experience at all. Placed an order to go off of there on line menu which shows guacamole bacon burger with fries, was asked if I wanted cheese I said no. Mushroom Swiss burger with tater tots and two orders of onion rings as most onion ring orders are small Went to pick up order and was made to feel like a pig because we orders fries and onion rings. They had no idea how many mouths were being fed. When food was gotten home the guacamole burger was just a plain burger and when I called the person was very rude about the whole thing. Telling me that she would have told me they didn't have that burger. Well I had the phone on speaker and everyone at my end herd the conversation but oh well. Yea I'll never go back. Prices are to high to be...
