Our second trip here. The first one, a party of ten was ordering several mixed drinks, so service was understandably slow (one waiter), but the food was good. Reasonably priced.
Second trip today? We were the only people in the restaurant. Another family entered, ordered, had drinks before we even got to order. I had to ask for lemonade, as a drink order was not requested. Our food arrived -- if you can call it 'edible.' Obviously preheated portions prepped like fast food. The $7 nachos were about as big as Bell Grande and tasted strikingly similar. I heard the microwave in the kitchen several times during 'cooking.' The waiter had to get the cook to open the jar of salsa to pour into bowls for the table. The food was tasteless, obviously preprepared, and service was horrible -- the waiter was more concerned with the soccer game on television than even refilling water glasses or inquiring after our order. The burrito was uncooked, the 'taco salad' a plate of shredded lettuce, tomato cubes, and greasy scoop of ground beef without the taco shell -- it did have four bits of soggy corn tortilla underneath though. As to the kids' food? When you can't get a hungry four-year-old to eat a chicken taco, something is wrong.
We will definitely not return. It's really sad when a good small independent business goes downhill so quickly and utterly. I paid $43 for lunch for four people -- which is reasonable, if the food is good. Not if someone went to Taco Bell and put the food on plates and charged $10 for a Nachos...
Read moreWe've eaten here a few times and each time has been great. Our go to here is to get two dinners with one being the Cielo, Mar, y Tierra combo plate (which is really good). It has carne asada, pollo asada, and shrimp served with tortillas and rice & beans. We also share their 2nd largest margarita. The portions are about right for what you're paying, and everything is tasty.
Service has always been great, with our servers being prompt and attentive.
The seating can be a little tight if it's busy, but we've typically gone during the off peak hours.
Would I recommend this place? Heck yeah. If you're driving through yamhill and are hungry, I totally recommend stopping...
Read moreThis place has a failed management. I see a lot of hard work on the side of presentation, but service was poor.
To start, the place smells like cheap pine Sol. Authentic, if you want real Mexico. A lot of Mexico smells like that.
The cook was eating bits and pieces off her preparation table WHILE preparing food. I saw it with my own eyes.
The salsa was hot. Perfect hot.
Spanish speaking customers get a friendlier welcome here.
The food is made cheaply and poorly. I'm assuming the owners are real chicanos, cooking their pobreza the way their parents did.
The only real reason this place is still in business is because there's nothing else worth...
