Klee's Ice Cream & Dessert — Restaurant in York

I am sad to report a really bad experience here this evening. We showed up after dinner, because the family wanted milkshakes. The lights were all on (see photo), two employees were behind the counter, the door was open, and a big sign out front said “NOW OPEN.”

When we walked in, one of the workers was very rude to my brother and my sister in law. One of the employees said, “Can’t you read the sign; it shows the hours,” and the other said, “the open light isn’t even on.” They were visibly annoyed and rude. It’s not a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but it was a negative experience and a testament to the nasty attitude of the employees there.

As it turns out, we drove to Scoops and the woman there was extremely nice and made us milkshakes with such a refreshingly positive and polite attitude.

The nice woman was working alone at first before the next shift came in, but was still highly attentive, nice, communicative and friendly! She was thorough and gave many suggestions that sounded amazing. they have a lot of unique and fun options, but their menu isn’t overwhelming and makes sense for the customer. a hidden gem in York that you should definitely try! (Unlike other ice cream places, it feels like they truly want you to experiment and be creative!) We ordered a strawberry shortcake rolled ice cream with a coconut base and strawberry syrup, along with a brownie sundae with banana pudding ice cream, fresh strawberries, and marshmallow sauce. This place.. wow. I’ve been four times and each time my experience has been great! We’ve tried, shakes, swirls, scoops, and rolled. All of which have tastes delicious. We’ve also had amazing service.
