All five stars? Well, it must have been Saturday, I must have gotten a rack of ribs with extra sauce that were smoky good, and the bartender must have done a great job taking my order and getting me a beer. Seriously, I was absolutely impressed by the ribs. Cooked over charcoal or wood because the smoke ring was perfect, as were the ribs. No fat (NO fat!) and just a slight char on the ends. There are a lot of great rib joints around Youngstown, and since it's harder and harder to find roast lamb on Saturdays, ribs are my safety pick. The ribs at the Royal Oaks were perfect, better after I got them home and slapped them in a casserole and baked at 250 tightly wrapped for like 40 minutes. Absolutely great flavor that will impress anyone who likes a nice rack of ribs. (A comma can change the meaning of a sentence, but not always) $25 for just a rack, no sides.

This place is a little rough around the edges, but it's a Youngstown classic! The atmosphere is very cool and unique. Friendly crowd. Awesome service. A little slow with the food but they were training a new cook. You HAVE to try to RASPBERRY BBQ sauce. Super unique and yummy!

My new favorite hang out! The wings are amazing, the prices are great. Service is wonderful. Plus it's a historic building in Youngstown so why not stop and visit. It's cozy with a laid back atmosphere where you can just relax with friends.

JFK (the owner) took care of us well.

A big highlight are the old-school digs and amazing hospitality - not to mention the throwaway prices for tally-boy PBR and coors beers if that's your thing. No fancy stuff here - simple, straightforward and good.

The wings with the raspberry bbq sauce was incredible. Not the kind of sauce where you mix raspberry vinaigrette with bbq sauce but something made from scratch. The tart of the raspberries complemented the molasses of the bbq sauce.

We also got wings with the Santa Fe sauce- kind of a blend of medium wings and parm-garlic. Absolutely delicious- expertly done and finger licking good. I mean we were dipping our fries in the leftover sauce.

The ribs were moist, tender and had the right amount of bark on them - we got them with the raspberry bbq sauce and they were phenomenal.

Make this a destination in Youngstown, If not a stop on your travels. Also - they grill their wings after frying them for a bit if smokiness (pure...

The food was ultimately good. The wait was ridiculous. Came at 12:40 and didn’t get our food until 1:35. Everyone was at the bar and were only ordering drinks. I feel like there was no reason for our food to come 55 minutes later. The waiter didn’t notify us until 1:30 that they didn’t have the ingredients for our appetizer that should have been one of the first things being made. On top of that, they didn’t notify us until after we had already boxed up our food that they weren’t accepting credit cards. The service was not good. Food was good, service was not. Probably not...
