This was the best pizza we have ever eaten, no other pizza compares. As you arrive at the "B&O Complex" , park, and keep walking toward the back of the parking lot. You will see a small canopy, some folding chairs, and a table or two. The menu is hand written, simple and doesn't require an advanced degree in molecular gastronomy...it is elegant in the most rustic way. We initially ordered the Margherita Pizza with Ricotta. We walked down to the Boxcar to have a drink, and waited for our pizza to be delivered. The Boxcar was a wonderfully quaint experience. very positive vibe, great people. The pizza was delivered in the most beautifully presented package. The crisp, white paper was neatly held closed with natural twine. The hand written check (our order) was taped on the top. This is not the type of packaging that is normally used in our area, per se. This is the first pizza that didn't come in a box. There was thought and consideration put into this presentation. A true craft, the art that accompanies the food experience. It is the centerpiece that immediately sets the mood, and greatly increases the anticipation. Untie the twine, unfold the simple, oragami-esque package, and there is the caramelized crust, sloping down to the dark mahogany edge of the sauce, fresh basil, beautiful, pristine, white cheeses all on an incredibly, insanely flavorful sauce. The best parts of this pizza, are the most important parts. They let you know, no matter which one you order, it will be exceptional: The Sauce and The Crust, best we have ever had! The toppings are of impeccable quality, but the base, the building block, is so strong, I can't imagine EVER getting anything except the best pizza from Yosteria. The pizza was placed on parchment paper, then onto cardboard for support, before being lovingly tucked into the white paper. The important point, to make about this packaging, is, there was absolutely, not one drop of oil or "grease" on that piece of parchment paper. No dark spots on the cardboard. In the photos, I show the paper that was directly under the pizza, it looks perfectly clean. no translucence. There was no oily layer on the bottom of this pizza, just a beautiful dusting of semolina. It is a must do situation. One pizza easily feeds two people, with a regular...

If it weren’t for the terrible service, I’d be giving this place 5 stars. But because their food is so great, our memories of this place are fantastic. Authentic Italian dishes are on the menu at this place, and the dishes are nothing you find on a traditional Italian American menu. Their bread is so good. It’s firm and tastes extremely sour (exactly how my wife and I like it). The food is also so light, you leave feeling good from what you put in your body. And the service…ugh. We walked in and it felt like we had entered someone’s house for a party that was ending. Mind you, we did arrive an hour and a half before closing. The staff didn’t seem like they wanted to serve us at all. We even asked if we could sit in the room off to the side and they said “no we’re trying to close up” and then she walked away and made us STAND for 5 minutes just in the middle of the restaurant before coming back and seating us. She was passive the entire time and seemed like she could care less that we were there. We asked for some recommendations and just scoffed and said “everything’s good”. She was super slow and was not attentive whatsoever afterward either. I made sure to leave a $0 tip with pride. Still, you don’t go to a restaurant to be treated well, you go to eat good food, and they exceeded our...

I have a Google doc containing every pizza I've ever had in it. Yosteria proudly took my #1 spot, and it did it from the first bite. the experience here is phenomenal.

The service was some of the best I'd ever had, felt like I was at a special place. And I was, the appetizers do a wonderful job introduding you to the meal, and the Pizza itself is the single most delicious thing I may have ever had.

This is true knowledge and craftsmanship attained only by the kinda work the owner did studying pizza, this feels like a pie that's had a lifetime devoted to it. If that's not made with love, I've couldn't tell you what is.

This is the best place to go to eat in the entire valley, it's the best pizza in the valley, one hundred percent it's own thing while feeling exactly like the summation of what so many of us love about pizza.

Thank you for giving me the gift of feeling like I had returned to Italy. I wasn't necessarily even searching for that feeling, I didn't know how bad I wanted it until I was here. It hit, absolutely every perfect authentic note and then some. This is the best pizza I've had in my life, in any variety, any style, hailing from any culinary tradition, this...

First drop in here as they have only been open for inside dining for a short time. First impression, the atmosphere was different and a bit unpolished... However, once you get that It's a retro type setting back to a Grandmother's (the Owners' actually) blue collar, steel mill town home you get the concept of an invite at Grandma's house with Family and Friends for a great authentic Italian Dinner. Great appetizer dishes (in fact, that's what we used to make up our dinner). The Bread and Peppers are top notch in a Region where virtually every local restaurant has a pepper and oil option. Service was great and each server had a Friendly, welcoming approach and smiles on their faces. The Owner was checking in with each guest and it was just an overall great experience. Welcome to Grandma's House for a real Youngstown Italian dining experience. Didn't see any truly heavy pasta type dishes, but also would have chosen what was offered anyhow as it is a unique menu experience. Please to note, that the Grandson has added a bar inside and outside as shown in the photos!

We came to Yosteria when it first opened and it was just pizza and burgers. It was excellent and with COVID hadn't been back. Wife and I finally made it back tonight. Restaurant has expanded with more indoor seating and a larger small plates menu. We were seated quickly and service was prompt/excellent, even with only 2 servers on staff. Wife and I tried the Parmigiana, Gnudi, and Melzanne e Miele. Eggplant was excellent and traditional. Gnudi was wonderful. The pizza ... wow. So simple but soooooo good. Dough was light with great texture. The touch of honey was perfect. Everything was great but that pizza was incredible. For desert, we split sfogliatella. The pastry was light and well made. The custard had great flavor. Overall, couldn't have had a better experience and we are going to try to get a group together to come back soon.
