I recently dined at the most amazing soul food restaurant known as "Savannah Joeās" and let me tell you, it was a truly exceptional experience. The restaurant ambiance was serene and welcoming, the staff was friendly and accommodating, and the food was out of this world. From the moment I walked into the restaurant, I was greeted with warm smiles and an unmistakable aroma of Southern cooking. The menu was extensive with a wide variety of soul food dishes, including fried chicken, collard greens, mac and cheese, and black-eyed peas. I opted for their popular fried chicken with a side of candied yams and Mac and Cheese. When I opened my to-go box, I was blown away by the portions and presentation. Everything looked so appetizing and fresh, and each bite was a taste explosion in my mouth. The Chicken was tender and fried to perfection that complemented the candied yams perfectly. The Mac and Cheese was creamy and delicious to the last drop. Overall, my experience at Savannah Joeās was one that I will never forget. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone who loves soul food or just wants to have a hearty meal in a warm and welcoming environment. The food was exceptional, and the service was top-notch. I can't wait to come back and try more dishes on the menu! So, I would give this soul food restaurant a five-star review without...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreThis restaurant is top notch! It is chefs kiss! This restaurant is it! The plaza is not hard to find. (Note: I went in the evening) The bright light caught my attention. I parked my car and went to order. I was greeted by this amazing person. Great customer service! I wasnt sure what sides I wanted to get but I know I want ribs. The person I place my oder with guided me through the items in terms of the sides. I got the mac and cheese, the mashed potatoes with gravy, collard greens, a slice of red velvet and a Kool aid. They convinced me to mix the Kool aid with the lemonade. It was the best decision I ever made! I started off with red velvet cake. Oh it was everything! The cake is soft, the cream cheese frosting had the right amount of sweetness. The crunch from the walnuts were the perfect touch. This dessert covers all the basics. Sweetness, crunch, and texture! The baker at this place is amazing! The Kool aid mixed with the lemonade was so delicious! It's the Kool aid you remember but now that you are an adult you realize what was missing was the citrus flavor. Lemonade. Simple. Refreshing. Ok I gotta go finish my meal I'll update soon. By the way, the mac and cheese was next and that is what lead me to write this review. This...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreA solid 4.5 rating really. Staff was excellent and accommodating for my party of 5 that showed up out of the blue. Even though it was order at the counter/eat at the table we were very, very impressed with how well we were treated by most of the staff and the quality of our food, albeit from a regional standpoint. Some things flavor wise were off for us. But everyone in my party was from a different state, Michigan, and were use to a different style of some of the sides.
That being said, the food was almost totally on point. Outta 5 of us, only one wasn't impressed, he had the dark fried chicken dinner and 3 of the sides we all shared amongst ourselves were off for us. (We'd never had black eyed peas with turkey before. It was ALWAYS pork back home.) The greens needed something but were still good and the cornbread was sweeter than what was expected (a friend says they use pudding) BUT good as well! Our server putting up with us made it all worthwhile and an enjoyable experience..
Looking forward to taking friends there next time...
