Great food and great price. My grandma bussed tables here a long time ago, so I love how eating here with the old fashion decor feels very home-y. 02/28/22.... All the food was messed up today. My over-hard eggs were runny; the French toast was simply pancake mix on top of bread (nasty! and who makes french toast like that!?); the biscuits and gravy had flat cheap biscuits(good gravy though). Additionally, we were charged full price for one fridge toast meal that was made incorrectly and only partially eaten because it was nasty. They didn't give us a break on our price at all.

I'm not gonna lie it's really hard for me to get breakfast at most restaurants. I am a really good cook and breakfast has always been one of my most favorite meals to make. It's also one of my most favorite meals to eat. The service was great and the food came fast. One of the most important things is that it came hot! That it did hot and fresh. Not the greatest picture. My son and I shared French toast and a scramble! It was so good! He even said it was amazing which he's picky too

First time in. I had the Meat Lovers omelet. He had the Denver. Mine was great. The only issues were the veggies were mostly raw, and the potatoes for the hashbrowns were not totally heated through. We ate what we could, no complaints to staff. There was a large group ahead of us, so kudos to the kitchen on getting everything out timely though. Our server had an outstanding personality. Definitely go again. Coffee mugs ready for Valentines Day! Love the wall!❤️

COOK N' POT, YUBA CITY: I know what I am about to say may sound sacriligious to church goers, here (i.e. Cook n' Pot fans), but I find the food here, overrated. While the meals are definitely edible, I think they are greasy (maybe that's what people mean by "comfort food."). Breakfast tends to be better than lunch because the sandwiches (expecially the grilled ham and cheese, which I think is the best of the sandwiches) is also greasy, and kind of "blah-say." (pun) Everyone is right about the place being too small. I hate having to wait for a table. Maybe that is the price of having to join the club, here. Everyone kinda knows everyone else, at least in one group or another, or at one hour or another. I would just as soon go some place else to eat as stand around waiting for someone else to finish eating, and then fight off someone else off for a dirty table. I tend to go less often at busy hours for that very reason. I do find the people very pleasant--the others who write about that, are also correct. The atmosphere, generally, is upbeat and cordial, and staff seems always to be friendly, helpful, and just all around nice. That isn't enough to save the old fashioned mom and pop-type diner from blah's ville. It is just average. So-so. Ho. Hum. Definitely overrated. I think the reason so many people rate this place so high....wait for it.... They don't know how to cook for themselves, or have someone to cook for them. In other words, they aren't used to getting a good home cooked meal, so when anyone cooks for them, they equate that with luxury. But not me. What's that Shakespearean expression? "I know a church by day!" I know what a good home cooked meal is. I know what good steak and eggs are, hash browns, etc. I am not naive, I also know when something is greasy, and I don't like greasy. So, sorry. I just don't like greasy. Three stars,...

I guess I'm a bit based because it is my great uncle who owns and runs this local favorite for the best biskets and gravy in town! If you have never had a "full mess" you are missing out on my auntie Anne's own creation of the biggest plate of hash browns country gravey and biskets that well turn warm and welcoming breakfast dinner into your regular weekend breakfast place that you been excited all week to go back again. Oh and of course we can't forget my favorite waitress in the world Roxie & her great attitude and warm smile that greets everyone who comes in and her amazing salsa Addition to the "full mess" So please do yourself a huge favor and go visit uncle Gary, Roxie, and the lady's at the Cookin Pot!!!!! Absolutely the worst excuse for food I've ever had. Paid through the nose for food we couldn't even eat. I will never return. I cannot believe just how terrible they have become, cannot describe a worse experience in a restaurant. The gravy was lumpy goop that looked like baby poop. It simply was terrible. I still can't believe i paid for it. It all started when we decided to give them a try after several years after they changed hands, and the original owner past away. Boy was that a massive mistake. It was so hot in the place it felt like the Arizona dessert in August. The mess came, and looked like a mess alright. It was so gross it was inedible. My nephews potatoes were so under cooked they were crunchy. I got the ticket and had sticker shock, wow. I simply couldn't leave without paying, but it was not work paying for. I will never come back and will never recommend them to anyone. Please stay away, I wouldn't feed they're...
