If I could give this place 0 stars I would. Went there tonight with my family. Everyone ordered drinks and cheese dip (which was luke warm at best). For the price of the cheese dip you would think there would be more but I mean that's just my opinion. While we were ordering the waiter huffed like it was taking too long or as if they were extremely busy. My mom ordered sour cream with the dinner which we had to ask for TWICE after the food came. She was half way done with the meal when she finally got it. Food was ok. Then the checks came as did the problems. The waiter had gotten them mixed up which was fine because I understand there were three different checks. We told him and he came back and mine check was still wrong so I just paid it and didn't mind bc I was paying for family. Then he came back with the cards and my card had never been charged but another card had been charged twice. So I go up to the counter and tell the cashier exactly what had happened. To not make this any longer than it already is, the card that had been charged twice was charged three times and my card had been charged for a bill that had already been paid for. At that point the difference in the bills was $2 so I just was so frustrated I didn't care. Very confusing! I just know the waiter who screwed it all up never came back to the table to apologize (or hear my rant) and we got a pitiful "I'm sorry." If I were you I would never go to this place bc of their awful customer service and...
Read moreNot sure what has happened to this place in the last year but it has gone downhill. Yesterday we went into eat. Had to ask to move twice due to the music being blasting on the bar side to the point where you need to shout to hear each other. Ordered an app of esquite and our mains. The app never came. I asked for it twice and our waitress just nodded. Drinks were never refilled.
At the end I noticed a “customer service charge” of 75c. Since our waitress disappeared, someone else took our bill and when I asked him what it was for he seemed embarrassed and said he wouldn’t put it on the check not to worry. He came back and of course, it was still on the check.
At this point nobody was coming back so I corrected the amount and put a note explaining I wouldn’t be paying for a charge like that if it coldly be explained to me and that he promised to take it off. Despite not getting apps or refills I still left a tip. It takes a lot for me not to tip at least 40 percent. You would have to literally not bring any food for me to tip zero.
Today of course, I checked and they charged my card the 75c. It’s a mixture of the principle and the legality of this move which makes me wonder how many people they have charged erroneously and without their agreement.
Never returning - plenty of other better establishments around like margarita house and el...
Read moreGood things first. The food is good; generally a 7 out of 10. Also, the staff is friendly. The two reasons I would rate this restaurant two stars is the pricing, and the service. There is now a notification on the menu that all prices have gone up $1.00 because of inflation. Although it would be better for the customer to reflect the actual price with an updated menu, notice is acceptable. The problem is the increases are more than a dollar. Please look at your bill carefully. Queso dip that was listed at $4.50 was charged as $6.25. Both of our entrées were somewhere between 2 to 3 dollars more. Combine that with a service fee that they have begun to charge for debit/credit card payments, and you will find your bills substantially higher than you will have expected. It is perfectly OK for them to increase prices; it is not OK for them to be opaque in their pricing. It also seems that the service has dropped in the last several visits. It is difficult to get someone to service the table or to get drinks refilled. The staff is very friendly, but not attentive. I would not be surprised of this is a staffing issue, but it is present. Hopefully, San Jose will correct some of these issues in the near future. For the time being, I think we’ll take our...
