My recent visit to Karimbek in Samarkand was nothing short of delightful. The restaurant's beautiful decor and well-lit ambience truly captured the essence of Uzbekistan's traditional spirit. The menu at Karimbek is a true treasure trove of delicious Uzbek meals. I found myself indulging in their kabobs, breads, and salads, all of which were simply exquisite. However, it's worth noting that an English menu is not available, and most waiters do not speak English, except for one. It seems that Karimbek is a popular spot for locals to celebrate special occasions. During my visit, I witnessed a vibrant birthday party in the inner room, complete with lively music and joyful celebrations. The staff at Karimbek were incredibly hospitable, adding to the overall warmth of the place. What's more, the prices at Karimbek are reasonable, making it an excellent value for the quality of food and experience.

One of the highlights of my trip to Samarkand was dining at Karimbek. Nestled in the heart of the city, this restaurant offers a delightful blend of traditional Uzbek cuisine and modern ambiance. The moment I stepped inside, I was captivated by the beautiful interior design. The intricate tilework and warm lighting created a cozy and inviting atmosphere. The menu offered a wide range of dishes, each more tempting than the last. I opted for the classic plov, a flavorful rice dish with tender meat and vegetables. The flavors were bold and satisfying, and the portion size was generous. To complement my meal, I ordered a refreshing local drink. The service was impeccable, and the staff were friendly and attentive. Overall, my dining experience at Karimbek was exceptional. It's a must-visit for anyone looking to savor the authentic flavors of Uzbekistan.

Unprofessional and Disorganized – Very Disappointing Experience!!!

We didn’t end up dining here, but our experience was frustrating enough to warrant a negative review. We visited this restaurant because it came highly recommended by locals, but what we encountered was a lack of professionalism and an absence of proper organization.

After waiting for more than 20 minutes, we were assured by the receptionist that a table would be available for us once the current diners left. However, just as the table was being cleared, another staff member—who didn’t seem to be a manager and lacked the professionalism expected of one—gave the table to a couple who arrived after us.

The receptionist tried to explain that the table was reserved for us, and I even pointed out that we had been waiting longer. Unfortunately, the staff member ignored this, and communication was further hindered by his inability to speak English.

This experience was deeply disappointing. We expected better organization and customer service, especially from a restaurant with such strong local recommendations.

We DON’T recommend this restaurant, you better try other small restaurant which will give you customer...

A hactic experience here, predominantly with the waiting staff. The food was not bad - very nice grilled pelmeni, perfectly seasoned, crispy, just great. A bit disappointing lulia kebab with some hards inside. Several items were not available and wr got to know it 20-25 min after ordering. Ambiance- noisy, kitchy interior, colourful, staff unavailable and hardly picking both english and russian. Service - when coming to bill I asked for paying with card. The Waiter disappeared and someone speaking some english came and told me that I can only pay food by card and need to pay drinks in cash, making some computing 3 times higher than the prices in the menu. When I argued back she first told me that prices changed then disappeared and claimed I should pay half of the asked, the other part will be covered by the waiter who didn't inform me for the sudden tripple price increase. I again insisted for a fiscal bond and finally prices came to the menu levels. My advise to foreigners - watch your bill! My appeal to owner - watch your staff. By giving room for forfeiting foreign customers you create base for mistrust in Uzbek tourism. I can also assume that staff...

What I liked : The ambiance, the decor and the fact that locals eat here. Food was quite good but nothing exceptional. Prices are alright.

What I disliked : Right from the moment they see tourists they see them as moneybags. English menu doesn't have prices written on them so that they can spike up the bill. So, I insisted on the Russian menu on which price was mentioned. However, upon receiving the bill I noticed discrepancy between the indicated price on the menu and the bill for each and every single item ordered. Although the total amount was not a big deal but it's not ethical. Please don't consider tourists to be foolish. When I asked the reason to our waiter as to why different prices on the bill than on the menu, he just smiled, took our bill quickly away and came back with the another bill with correct amount. Secondly, the staffs are not well trained. Our waiter was constantly standing by the table while we were making our choices although we asked him twice politely to give us a couple of minutes. Also while paying the bill, we was constantly standing...
