It is very good. The location of the restaurant itself is highly strategic with the best view of the locales. Interior is nice with warm atmosphere. Features private rooms (4 persons max each), you can eat at ease in them. Staff are well trained and response to guests in a timely fashion. Very polite, too. Food is well taken care of by the chefs. Deliver time depends on how crowded the restaurant is at that moment, but usually not slow. Both the duck in the hot Soba and grilled duck were chewy, but still flavourful. It seems like pork tenderloin was used for my serving of Tonkatsu. Because tenderloin is a lean cut of meat, there was little juice in the pork compared to using sirloin or chops. Sauce was standard reduced sweet soy sauce with Worcestershire. Hot Soba broth had a slight sour aftertaste. That being said, Kanouan Katsu's chicken game is on another level of expertise. Deep fried chicken gizzard is incredibly flavourful with rich and deep taste coating from the marinate with ginger, garlic and other condiments. Deep fried chicken (Tori no Karaage) is a must have everytime. The chicken is fried so that the coating outside is crisp, but light, resulting in almost "melt" feeling when you bite into it. Meat inside is juicy, but not undercooked. The timing for this dish is perfected, it seems. Dipping sauce for cold Soba noodles is refreshing and light. Cold Soba noodles itself is springy and chewy. Very delicious! Please give Sweet walnut dipping sauce with cold Soba noodles (Kurumi Soba) a try. The thick sweet walnut sauce goes well with chewy Soba noodles. I'm addicted to it! :D I will try to make kurumi sauce at home.
Update 2019.11.01 I was surprised at the addition of various authentic dishes with the newly revised menu. Now you can choose between 80% buckwheat + 20% flour or 100% buckwheat noodles. The noodles from pure buckwheat flour is amazingly chewy, I love it! Tori no Karaage now comes in larger cuts, but it's still as good as before. Serving staffs are profressional as always. Please send the staffs my compliments. I want to try the Tebasaki sometimes,...
