Buffalo Hills Spur Zimbabwe — Restaurant in Bulawayo Province

Its unfortunate that I have to give them this rating... honestly walking in I found it a little intimidating walking in as there was a crowd of Male employees by the door before the reception... I understand that is their way of getting clients as hosts.... it was just assumed that the first person that greets u is ur waiter I disappointed in that as there were much friendly employees in the background. What this then created was an environment that no other staff would take note of u if they had their own tables as these men would be running with up to 5 tables at a time which then kills the friendly welcome approach from the door. I was seated outside like I requested. It was not so relaxing as there were many child playing in the grounds which the children really enjoy. My breakfast came on a warm plate but the actual food was cold I was not impressed the cappuccino came late and was not that hot. So having cold food could either be the food was cooked much earlier or it sat in the kitchen waiting for collecting for some time. But the first is most likely from how cold the chips were cos no warm plate...

It was on Friday 22 August 2025, had gone there for early dinner with my grandson. I chose to sit by the verandah where it was cool, and l could watch my grandson play. Nobody attended to us. Waiters walked by attending to other tables and cleaning up tables that had just been vacated. An hour and a couple of minutes went by without us being served despite my grandson having gone inside the restaurant twice to ask to be served.

We eventually left very disappointed, and on our way out, just by the entrance, there were three waitresses who were having a nice time chatting. They said to us, "Thank you, hope you enjoyed your time here." We did not respond. What further annoyed me was the fact that we sat unattended for that long yet they were waitresses who were unengaged.

We drove to a nearby restaurant (The Smoke House) for a meal. There the welcome and service was awesome.

Today I had the worst ever service at Buffalo Spur. I left home 30mins after placing an online order which seemed to be taking long to be captured as ready- I trusted my gut that this could probably be just a cashier who forgot to input that the order was ready as it has happened before but to my surprise I got to Buffalo Spur and the food order #656 hadn't even been prepared. The lady serving me didn't even apologize for the delay she kept asking her colleagues who the Manager was who accepted the order. She didn't even explain that the order hadn't been prepared. I stood at the counter until I decided to take a seat. I had to wait another 30mins inorder to get my order that same cashier then started looking for 1us dollar I was already too upset as all I wanted was to buy my favourite food and enjoy the rest of my wedding anniversary.

I do not recommend the online service to anyone as it does not work at all!

I'm not only disappointed but I'm hurt as Buffalo Spur is my preferred place for food. This service didn't just upset me but it ruined my wedding...
