Roosters Pub & Grill — Restaurant in Bulawayo Province

The food is nice , the place is clean , but there is a lot of racial profiling , i came in with my friends of color from the United States and South Africa and we were denied entry into the place because of the color of our skin , the place has quite a lot of tables for clients but we were told they were no tables and we checked only to see only 3/4 tables were in use (by white people) , we went on to ask about the free tables and the receptionist told us she could not help us any further since she had told us they were full , i was quite ecstatic that i’d show my foreign friends a nice restaurant in Bulawayo but they were quite shocked by the treatment , i have had food at this place with my staff and the last time i had my team our treatment to our fellow white customers was quite different for some white lady was moving around asking about their service and food and our table was not visited and our food was served later than what other white people who came after us , 3 of my buddies from New York were quite disturbed and went on to ask local staff at the mall if it was the treatment all people of color got and they were replied with “it might be because they train their employees to value people of the fairer skin and it is maybe that they prefer white clients to people of color “

Gave it two stars because the staff was very friendly and welcoming. Went here after it was highly recommended to me. The complementary garlic bread to start with was excellent and I felt I came to the right place. Unfortunately however the food was nothing to write home about. The 1/4 chicken with wings was average and nothing i couldn't whip up at home. The wings very small and the desert was served in the smallest portion I've ever seen. Did not justify it's price. The pasta looked good and wasn't bad at first. Unfortunately the more I ate the harder it became to tolerate. Too much salt and very heavy in oils and fats. The food is good, if you can sit through literally the worst service. It has slow, rude and racist waiters. I went there on the 1st of December 2022 I had booked a table for 5, we got there and we where not attended by a waiter for 30 mins when he finally came and took our order we had to wait another 30 mins before we walked out before being served our drinks, we where there for an hour and we did not recieve our drinks or starters within that hour, however a table of white people received prompt and timely service.
