Alfresco The Bakery — Restaurant in Harare

I made an oath to myself to try everything they have on their menu after I had my brekkie. I was that impressed, really reminded me of my favourite cafe is Stellenbosch — Juvenate. I got a chicken mayo sandwich, and while it had all the generic ingredients that come with it… they were just elevated. Starting with the bread itself, I noticed that it was infused with some sort of seeds. The filling? De-li-cious down to the last onion. So excited to try everything else. One little caveat though, the twine they used to wrap up the sandwich embedded itself in the sandwich. As in, when I removed it there were bare fragments of it stuck in the filling. And the chai latte was a bit mid.

Hi good people. Today for the first time, I went to the little café ALFRESCO in the honeydew/food lovers complex in Greendale, Harare. I ordered the chicken mayo sandwich and the mango crush for lunch, and then the cakes looked so good I got a mini carrot cake and a milky way donut to take home. My word - the sandwich was beyond expectations and filled me up!! So delicious with what looked like home made seed bread and the mango crush - yummy!! (I went back after shopping for another one!!).
