My recent visit to Sabah Desa Dairy Farm was a delightful journey into the heart of rural charm and natural beauty. Nestled amidst the rolling hills of Kundasang, the farm offered a picturesque escape from the hustle and bustle of city life. Upon arrival, I was greeted by the sight of lush green pastures stretching as far as the eye could see, dotted with grazing cows and framed by majestic mountains. The fresh mountain air filled my lungs as I embarked on a leisurely stroll around the farm, taking in the serene surroundings and soaking up the tranquility of nature. One of the highlights of my visit was the opportunity to witness the dairy farming process firsthand. From milking sessions to cheese-making demonstrations, I gained a newfound appreciation for the hard work and dedication that goes into producing dairy products. Of course, no visit to Sabah Desa Dairy Farm would be complete without sampling its delicious dairy treats. I indulged in creamy gelato made from fresh milk, savoring each spoonful as I marveled at the farm-to-table journey of its ingredients. For those seeking adventure, the farm offered activities such as horse riding and feeding the calves, providing a hands-on experience that was both educational and enjoyable. The friendly staff were always on hand to offer guidance and share their knowledge of farm life. As the day drew to a close, I bid farewell to Sabah Desa Dairy Farm with a sense of gratitude for the memories created and the beauty of nature experienced. It was a visit that left me feeling rejuvenated and connected to the land, reminding me of the simple joys that await those who venture off the beaten path.

DESA DAIRY FARM KUNDASANG A visit to the dairy farm with milk processing facilities in the scenic and cool Kundasang highlands is an itinerary not be missed when you are on a Sabah holidays. What greeted us when we reached the Desa Dairy Farm in the morning were an overcast sky coupled with a light drizzle and an overflow of vehicles parked by the roadsides and at whatever conceivable spaces still available. Its manicured lawns with white painted wooden guard rail and rolling pastures was what we had visualized based on images of a typical western farm portrayed in pictures and photos. It brings much joy and serenity to our hearts. The exhibition lobby was full of visitors watching intently the mechanized packaging process on display as many visitors were stranded inside by the drizzle. The cafe and souvenir center were enjoying brisk business. The sky soon cleared up for us to go outdoor to watch calves grazing on the pastures. Dairy cows were noticeably absent in the open as they are kept in sheltered facilities for production, the life blood of the farm. At the sheltered barns just a few flights of stairs below the exhibition lobby, we were encouraged to buy tidy little bundles of long grass or bottled milk to hand feed the 'hungry' calves and snap photograph of dainty flowers in sculptured garden next to it. Indeed it is not just a thriving dairy farm but have fulfilled its ecotourism potential in attracting overseas tourists to our shores especially the Singaporeans.

My recent visit to Desa Farm in Kundasang was an absolute delight and marked my first proper encounter with a farm setting. This charming farm has swiftly become one of my favorite places in Kundasang, offering an immersive and memorable experience for both kids and adults alike. The highlight of my trip was the opportunity to get up close and personal with the cows, witness the farm's fresh produce in action, and even try my hand at milking cows. It was an educational and fascinating experience that left me with a newfound appreciation for the farming process. Desa Farm doesn't just provide a visual feast – the taste buds are in for a treat too. The frozen yogurt, milk, and yogurt produced fresh from the farm are must-tries. The quality and freshness are evident, making for a delicious and authentic farm-to-table experience. While the farm can get quite busy, especially with families and curious visitors, the staff efficiently manages the crowds, ensuring that the line for various activities moves swiftly. The bustling atmosphere only adds to the vibrant energy of the place. The farm is a gem for anyone seeking a unique and enjoyable outing. Whether you're interested in farm activities, tasting fresh dairy products, or simply soaking in the picturesque surroundings, this place has it all. Don't miss the chance to indulge in the frozen yogurt – it's a delightful way to cap off a wonderful visit!

Desa Cow Farm is the home of the local Desa milk brand, and the farm is popular with both locals and tourists, and it's not hard to see why! With a breathtaking view of the majestic Mount Kinabalu overlooking verdant pastures, it's no wonder it's named 'The Little New Zealand' of Sabah. The main attraction here is the cow farm, where families can come to partake in recreational and educational activities such as feeding the calves and goats, as well as understand the milking process all the way to how it is used to make the final product. Playfully known as the ‘Little New Zealand’ of Sabah, this place reminds you of Kiwi land’s famous dairy farms. The cooling air, foggy surroundings, and highland landscapes naturally make you feel as if you are somewhere overseas. The real attraction here is the cattle farm, producing about 900,00 litres of milk per year. The farm is about 199 hectares, and most of the milking cows are Holstein Friesians breed, the highest milk producer of all cattle breeds. The live farm is not only the main attraction but so is the food. Freshly made yoghurts, Fresh cow milk and goat milk are pairing a nice view with delicious snacks, and drinks make a perfect combo.

If you have ever wondered how milk is collected and then commercialized, Desa Cattle Farm is the place to be. Desa Cattle Dairy Farm has been developed and integrated into an Agro-tourism business that proves to be sustainable and produces high-quality local-made products such as assorted fresh milk, yogurts, cheese and yes! their famous Gelato ice cream. The live farm is not only the main attraction but so are the food. Pairing a nice view with delicious snacks and drinks makes a perfect combo.

The picture looks better than the real place. I do hope my comments here would be read by the management because I think this place has good environment and there is so much they could have done to make the place more attractive. There was no proper guide and arrangement of how the visitor should have experienced. Although it was stated activities such as milk packaging, calf feeding etc. were available, we were quite lost of where we should go and what we should see. Viewing the milk packaging from a small viewing panel was definitely a disappointment. Please see how other countries have been doing for different types of museums/ products factory visit etc. They don't even have so much as what you have here but the experience had been great. The architecture and planning of the entire place definitely needs an upgrade. The cars were parked everywhere in the compound when they could have done so much with the place by encouraging people to walk and enjoy the potentially picturesque environment. I thought I'd spent at least 2 to 3 hours here, but 30 mins (including enjoying the ice cream and photos taking) were more than enough.
