Maragang Hill Registration Center — Attraction in Borneo

Tis is my 1st hiking to Maragang hill🥰 A 1.3km to campsite 🏕 15min to Maragang peak⛰️ From we arrived Maragang office to peak and from the peak down, all the way, the Guide, the driver, the potter and the staff, all are very friendly 😁 I m with a small group and I m not a hiker, 1.3km sound like quite a short hill, for me as a beginner level only😬 abit hard, I m the last one arrived campsite of my team😩 1.3km lowest elevation(m) 1900, higher elevation (m) 2230 weather 17'c I took about 1hour 20min to reach campsite 🏕 😁Very slow, heartbeating...rest😝 + looking 🔍at flora & fauna 📸📸📸 The Guide accompany me😜 point me the flora, stop me to take picture😁 and not rush me to catch up my team😂 that's why I m the last of my team😅 and because of heartbeating I should rest and it gives me a chance to explored the trail. (If I m alone I think I will took 2hour to reach campsite, cause to many things to explore 😂) 4pm start hike, my team reach campsite early than me 30min 😅 Reach campsite, build up tent 🎪, sorry I don't how to fix it😜 the Guide and the friendly staff help me fix it😂 🔥 Camp, dinner time, and we sitting and having meal with our guide & potter (chit & chat) 2am wake up looking at milky-way 🌌, Unfortunately foggy still~😕 5am ready to the peak, arrive peak 2232m weather cool and refreshing 🥰 waiting for 🌅 Sunrise, group photo, selfie and exploring 🤣 7am back to campsite 🏕 packed stuff Heading down hill I m still slow as 🐢 😂 9.30am we all reach Maragang office, certificate applause 👏 and the last we have Guide, staff, potter in our group photo..... 🥰 👏👏👏Thank you...

The hike was a last minute plan of mine as my trip to Kundasang was a trip to relax and recover, free and easy. I booked the "Sunrise 3AM Normal Trail" via WhatsApp a day before.

Timeline: 0300-0315 Meet at the registration center, make payment 0315-0330 Travel to the start point - transportation included 0330 Start the hike 0430-0500 Arrive at the peak 0500-0630 Sunrise, Picture taking 0630-0745 Travel back to start point 0745-0830 Travel to registration center, done

Experience: The journey from the registration center to the start point involves an elevation change from 1500m to 1800m, I experienced mild shortness of breath when we were moving via the transport. My body was able to adapt after a while so no issues for me to start the hike.

I had Mr. Japili (Jeff) as my guide. He's very resourceful and attentive. He's a native in the area and is well versed with hiking Mount Kinabalu as he had around 25 years of experience being a mountain guide. He's also an avid photographer carrying his mini tripod around for his hikes.

Price: RM155 (1 pax). If you visit in groups of 2, your cost per pax will be much more affordable. Highly recommended product from the local Mesilau community, suitable for all hiker levels, though the hiking difficulty can be managed even for beginners since the terrain is a mix of wooden steps and the...

This is second time for me hike to maragang hill. At first on December 2018. We took loop trail too. So second time i introduce to my friend and we went there on 2/9/2019 total 10 pax. It's really awesome view at peak off hill. Windy too. Going down with loop trail (track down like gunung dato") a bit difficult but still fun for me. So going down more tough than going up. Loop trail 4.3km [ 4 - 5 jam ] Naik di laluan normal turun di laluan lain

Yuran konservasi RM : 10.00 seorang Bayaran guide [ 1 - 5 orang ] RM: 100.00 Bahagi 5 orang Rm 20.00 seorang Bayaran pengangkutan RM 40.00 ÷ 5 orang Rm 8.00 seorang Bayaran untuk setiap pendaki adalah 10 + 20 + 8 = Rm : 38.00

Pengangkutan ~ Kenderaan dari pejabat MEVOC KG Mesilou ke starting point dan ambil balik semula dari ending point ke pejabat MEVOC. ~ Kenderaan pendaki boleh  diparkir di kawasan pendaftaran. ~ Kenderaan pendaki tidak disarankan dibawa ke starting point atas sebab keselamatan..

1300 - 1330    - pendaki balik pejabat MEVOC ,penerimaan sijil dan aktiviti selesai.

0300- 0330 - Ketibaan para pendaki di office MEVOC Kg.Mesilou 0330 - 0350 -  Pendaftaran 0350 - 0400 - bergerak ke starting point Maragasu dengan                            kenderaan yang disediakan. 0400 - 0410 - taklimat keselamatan daripada malim dan pemanasan badan 0530 - 0600 - pendaki dijangka tiba puncak Maragang Hill 0600 - 0700 - sesi bergambar matahari terbit (sunrise🌄)  rehat dan sarapan. 0700 - 0800 - para pendaki bergerak turun ke end point 0900- 1000 - tiba di end point. 0930 - 1000 - bergerak ke pejabat MEVOC 1000 - 1030 - penerimaan sijil....
