If you want a view facing mount kinabalu, this is not the place to be. Room was mouldy and not clean. No hot water. Extra charges for stove (RM30) Kitchen utensils are available for cooking. Lights are very dimmed. Not all the lights bulps can be turn on in the room. Toilets made of mostly zincs and steel, and lots of sharp objects. We hurt ourself few times going into the toilets. Owner should really change all the sharp steels and zinc in the toilet. The door edges and lock is very sharp, The place to hang towels and to put the toilet tissue papers are also made of sharp steels. This is dangerous for kids. No safety indeed. We encounter scorpions entering the room before we head to bed. Unfortunately we had to kill it because we were worried it may come again into our room. Because of the the scorpion, that we encountered, i hadnt had a good sleep. I was worried if any other sorts of insects that may bite us while we sleep. I came and stayed many places in kundasang area quite often. Glamping is always fun, but unfortunately, we did not enjoy ourself here. There is also no proper Entrance into the room. We were confuse to enter from the 'kitchen' area, where there is a gap between the pathway and the 'kitchen' floor or next to the entrance door which is too small with slanting steel to the door pole. Both are not practical. We are not trying to discourage people from coming here, but i think this place is overated, We hope they improve the place so we can come back again in the future. Anyways, the flower scents...
Read moreMy family and I have been wanting to stay at Umea Glam for so long and we finally managed to secure our booking during CNY holiday. In short, we actually enjoyed our stay - the dome was pretty and well decorated. Plus the ambience was great!
Unfortunately, it was raining the whole day during our stay and knowing that no water heater was provided, so you can imagine how cold it was to take a shower. Even stove has to be rented.
I didn't read the FAQ tbh, but I would suggest to improve some aspects for a satisfy guest in the future; Install some lights on the unpaved and muddy trails, so it would be convenient to walk out at night. Otherwise, it's very dangerous to walk out at night especially when it's raining - slippery and zero safety. Please provide umbrella. I have talked to the receptionist and they did mentioned that umbrella was provided some time ago but 'uncivilized' guests always took it with them. Maybe the receptionist can follow them after check-out and collect back the umbrella (not that hard considering guest numbers are not large enough)? I have seen few staffs inside the reception counter, maybe can assign someone to follow the guests out if they borrow the umbrella (this job only requires...
Read moreStaying at umea was brethtaking moment for me😍Check it out my photos how much i enjoyed there The view was simply stunning..
Mount Kinabalu is located back of the Umea, after seeing sunrise in front of your tent, you have to see the back side for this! Also can see countless stars at night. Luckily i saw a meteor that night.🌠
Nature wise, I can tell Umea is the best option to stay, but there're some downsides as well. For example Don't expact a soundproof I heard the loud snorling from the next tent all night🥲 Not available hot water and shower head/outhouse.. I did simple water shower at night. I think it's not easy for most of Msian in general Indoor temperature It's basically inside much colder than outside beacuse of the cold floor.
Personally one more thing was an air freshener!!! It's autometic.. Too often being sprayed out. Smell too strong for me...the noise quite irritating.. ✅ In conclusion, I recommend Umea despite of all these...
