This is a very interesting place where you can get acquainted with the life, culture and history of Gyumri. The building of the Museum is a masterpiece of architecture. The building is designed in a combination of pink and black tuff that is so prevalent in 1860-1870-ies. in Fault (now Gyumri) stones. Only because of this unusual construction is worth to come here. Quite a large exposition of the Museum of folk life and architecture is placed in the House "Dzitohcjanov", which was built in the year 1872. That is why the Museum is also called House-Museum Dzitohcjanov. In the Museum you will become familiar with past and present ambitious and hospitable gjumrijca. You can see the layout of the big city. If you visit this Museum, you'll tour since Armenia 19 century to the famous for a rich culture of Armenia that existed 150 years ago. Fly in the ointment: there is no audio guide, guided tour must be booked in advance. And even no keeper (and was not one but several) did not want to tell anything, of course, for a fee. Just not very interesting to walk around and look at the decals, would like to...

I'm still giving this place 5 stars considering Gyumri is pretty small and a lot of stuff was lot in 1988 and during the Soviet Era. Nevertheless this musuem brings a lot of great history of Gyumri right in front of you. 1500 AMD was the price to enter which was pretty good. Being a cartography nerd, I had spent a lot of time in the maps section and I had also spent a good amount of time in the diorama section. That stuff is really amazing. Nevertheless, the museum is pretty great and I'll probably be back one more time before I leave...

This museum features the most incredible diorama I’ve ever seen. It’s crafted with an incredible attention to detail, and the background blends in seamlessly, creating the illusion of an actual city (Gyumri, back then referred to as Alexandropol) in miniature. The rest of the collection is really interesting too and the ladies who work there are super accommodating trying to give you some insights into...

a MUST SEE if you want to learn about Gyumri's historical culture & architecture. I gave it 4 stars because of its complicated ticket system․ 1000 AMD for a person, additional 1000 for guided tour (I highly recommend this option, it's paid just once for the whole group) and if you want to take photos, you will be requied to pay an additional fee of 1000 AMD. The tour goes into thefollowing topics:

Good museum. Learn about the town, the architecture, and the ancient society. Very cheap to enter, the personal tour is very informative. The musical instruments and foundry were my favorite rooms, to be honest. I took photos of the whole tour. I recommend tourists from other countries to visit the museum if they have time.
