This was mine and my husband’s first time to Armenia. Like many tourists we choose to visit the ski resort and enjoy a day in the mountains surrounded by snow. Unfortunately, our day did not go as expected and turned sour quickly.
Positives: most of the ladies at the lift ticket booths could speak english and were very kind and helpful.
the view is amazing
Negatives: There are no clear signs or any staff at the entrance to understand what options are available. We had to go ask around many times to understand where we wanted to go or what we wanted to do.
There are two lifts at the entrance. We were told the left one was to go up to the top and there are activities and the right lift is for skiing or snowboarding. At the top of the left lift the only options, outside skiing and snowboarding, are snow tubbing and riding snow mobiles
If you dont get a skiing/boarding pass you pay for each lift separately.
The snow tubbing section is very small and while they say it is not meant just for children, the image would suggest otherwise.
I was excited to go and drive a snowmobile. However, this is when things turned sour. I was refused to rent my own because I am a woman. They have clear gender discrimination and would only allow me to ride with my husband, sitting behind him. They made it clear “women no drive.” They had no other reasoning! Even other tourist there stopped to ask the lenders why I couldn't drive and they flat out kept refusing because I am a woman!
If you choose to go I urge you not to spend your money on the snow mobile rides. Such rude and disrespectful people don’t deserve it!!!
We wanted to try skiing for a change and we were considering going back down to rent equipment but after the snow mobile interaction we left and didnt look back. That is the only reason I gave 2 stars instead of one. We never tried the skiing/snowboarding part of...

🎢 The cable car ride is the main attraction during summer — and it doesn’t disappoint. The ride offers breathtaking panoramic views of the surrounding green valleys and mountains. Honestly, you’ll find yourself wishing the ride never ends!
⚠️ A word of caution: the entry and exit to the cable car can be a bit tricky, especially if you’re traveling with children. Since the car doesn’t come to a full stop, you’ll need to quickly hop onto or off the moving seat, which may feel slightly risky for some.
🌿 The scenery in June is lush, calm, and incredibly photogenic — it’s a totally different charm compared to the snowy winter months.
Even without the snow, Tsaghkadzor is worth a visit, especially if you love nature, mountain air, and unforgettable views. Just prepare accordingly if you’re visiting...
