Very small botanical in the north of Adelaide. It was nice and quiet for a Saturday morning and, although the waterfall was not running when we initially arrived, it turned on at 10am. Nice leisurely stroll around the grounds looking at the flora and running around the grasses areas. We especially liked the purple blossoming trees on the path into the central garden. Lots of garbage bins around the place plus public toilets made this park an easy visit.

I always feel so at peace when I come here. It is so perfect during the spring and autumn, and it’s good in the summer too because there is a lot of shade provided. There is so much grass to lay on and perfect for individuals and big groups. The gardens are so pretty and it has nice walking trails too. In the back there is a nice waterfall that I love listening to. Such a perfect botanical garden if you don’t want to travel into the city one.

Been in the area a while now and had no idea it was even here. It's like it's hidden or something. Beautiful, well maintained gardens. Nice open spaces with green grass as well as shaded tree areas. Plenty of parking nearby. Includes public toilets, rotunda, drinking fountain and feature waterfall. Worth the visit if in the area. Also take note of the plaques commemorating various things too.

I remembered these gardens to be beautiful, lush and peaceful. Lovely place to walk your furbaby & sit and reflect to the sound of a running waterfall......until yesterday. I wanted to take my new furbaby where his "big bro" used to frolick...I was shocked and saddened by the neglected state of the gardens. Not only were they not disability inclusive/friendly, but the ponds for waterfall were green, dirty & chock-o-block with leaves but the garden beds were totally void of the many beautiful roses, plants and lush greenery that made it so sensory and relaxing. The old Bonsai trees were still standing....just...but looked tired and uncared for. One thing going for it was some areas of green grass but not much else! What has happened PAE Council?? You don't care anymore? Even the pathways are just steep dirt areas with some logs that lead nowhere (except to steep drops)....it's really really sad that what was once a beautiful, sensory, peaceful and stunning garden haven in the middle of suburbia...has deteriorated to such a state! I'm sure there's been a big decline in wedding bookings too! Spend some $ and...

I am writing to raise a serious concern about a distressing incident that took place today at Stockade Botanical Park.

During a family picnic, we witnessed a shirtless man, appearing to be severely mentally unwell, behaving erratically and at times falling over. The situation became frightening when he suddenly dashed aggressively towards our picnic group. Thanks to two men who seemed to be accompanying him, he was restrained at less than 5 metres from us.

However, neither of the two men was in uniform or wearing any form of visible identification. This made it impossible for us to immediately determine who they were or what their intentions might be. For a moment, it was genuinely unclear whether this was a random assault or a medical emergency, and it was distressing for everyone present—especially babies.

We fully understand and support inclusive community practices, particularly for people living with mental health conditions. However, we believe public safety should be managed with clear accountability, especially in shared public spaces...

A beautiful park with lovely gardens, lawns and picnic area. A bonus is that it borders the Dry Creek Linear Park which is well worth the really interesting walk towards Walkleys Road, through creek-side vegetation, historical landmarks and lots of birds. A major disadvantage of any visit to this park is the lack of toilet facilities. The toilet buildings are open only for those who book a function in the park. This is a big drawback for family gatherings in this lovely park. I therefore must give...
