Just had a ripper night at the bowls club. Walked home under the stars to guide us , then got home and google wants to know what we were doing at a museum at 11:30 at night. So I'll tell ya. I was walking home like our forefathers before us. Only using our whiskey , wits and the stars to guide us. Just like they did with their trusty sextant. ( Astronomy device don't google it I dare ya). They made there own maps as they wandered deep into darkness. They invented maps not google. We were priveldged to be permitted to photograph Capt James Cook's tree stump where he tied his ship in 1792 to carry out repairs now located in the Bligh Museum. Truly a great collection of historical records and artifacts worthy of a visit to this amazing museum on Bruny Island on the shore of Adventure Bay. Read moreAn interesting little museum with a very eclectic mixture of artefacts including reproductions and originals. Strangely there was even a wooden bench with nothing but Princess Dianna books and magazines. Some lovely ship models and some interesting pictures but very broad and little haphazard which is part of its charm. It’s only $4 to enter and relies on volunteers.
