The South East Centre for Contemporary Arts (SECCA) is finally finished and open to the public. We visited last year when it was still an unfinished building project. Today we were treated to a tour by Director Iain Dawson through the completed galleries, currently showing the most recent Archibald Prize exhibition. Even if you visited the exhibition in Sydney this attractive space and Iain’s thoughtful hang brings different works to the forefront. Claudia Chan Shaw looks out imperiously from one alcove, and soft light from the gallery windows makes Noni Hazelhurst peering through window all the more moving. You can catch this exhibition on the hour or with a drink in hand at their art open late Thursday night sessions until 7 January.

Small it might be but the art fills the room. Great customer service & have heard talks about a future expansion which will be great for all!

I found a few absolutely magnificent art pieces, it's only one room, not big but worth it while visiting Bega, free entry.

Very disappointing. Made the trip from Pambula, just one room open with about a dozen paintings on display. They were interesting but that was it! Is the gallery only partially open or is this the extent of it? If so very disappointing in comparison to other regional galleries such as East Maitland, Gosford, Wollongong,...

State of the art gallery, excellent facilities, accessible, restrooms, really friendly staff and volunteers. Exhibitions curated at highest standards on par with state galleries. The new architect designed building has brought an incredible...
