I used to think this cafe was snobbish. "A fully vegetarian establishment?" I mused. "How peculiar!" That is until I went there and was promptly blown away by my ignorance. I mean, yes, it is a vegetarian cafe, but there is something to be said about the extraordinary difference between the idea of vegetarian food and the truth of what it can be and this place slaps the truth right in to you and then gives you something to dream about afterwards. What i'm trying to say is the food here is phenomenal. It is complex and bountiful, and truly the mark of a chef who in their element of freedom can make something truly wonderful even with the very slight caveat of avoiding meat. It is very, very good food.

Oh, and they have these superb little vegetarian and vegan treats available at the counter that are the perfect snack to munch on when you need something to grab and go. If I wasn't so busy I would eat here more often than not because it is a truly exceptional place and I am annoyed with myself that I avoided it for so long due to some vapid preconception of what a good and...
Read moreWonderful intimate cafe, worth a 5 other than for the standard regional malaise in that it is only open 8.30-2.30 Monday to Friday and closed on weekends. This effectively renders it totally closed to anyone with a 9-5 weekday job. I hugely miss the European (and Australian capital city) cafe culture where the cafe is to thinkers and coffee drinkers, what the local pub is to punters and alcohol drinkers - a place to call home away from home, not just somewhere for a rapid meal, but a place for afternoon and evening socialising too. I look forward to the day that somewhere other than Maccas offers local extended hours. Service was friendly and efficient, the food was great and with attention to detail in seasoning, which makes the difference in vegetarian food. But...as above, if you work, it's not exactly easy to experience the...

The service is so friendly and warm, the space feels so homely. There’s a gorgeous outdoor seating area out the back and the local art that covers the walls inside is a perfect insight to the beautiful community of the Bega valley. Food is always a solid 10/10 and you always forget it’s a veggie cafe because it’s just that good. So you better stop in, otherwise you’re missing...
