The upgrade to this lookout is surprisingly good. There are two Disabled Parking spots, with a hatched area in between, placed next to the toilet block and the start of the walking path. The gradient on the path to the lookout makes it very easily wheelchair accessible and for the return push uphill they have placed level sandstone seat emplacements at suitable intervals with room for a wheelchair occupant to sit next to them. Well done! There is one issue with the disabled toilet access however. Unfortunately the disabled toilet door is very heavy due to the automatic closure and is difficult for a carer to hold open whilst getting the wheelchair in and out. It is impossible for a wheelchair user on their own to enter or exit without assistance. Also the tap and basin outside the toilets has no water. Maybe a temporary problem?
The views from the lookout itself and the pathway down to it are some of the most spectacular in the Blue Mountains. The old ironstone hut has been preserved and the landscaping around the pathway, alongwith the new plantings, looks lovely. It might be worthwhile to put a few signs up to warn parents to keep a grip on their toddler's hands seeing as there are quite a few opportunities for them to take a nasty tumble, and one or two spots where there could be a fatality. A few more signs to remind people not to trample the new plantings and bush regeneration would help too as some people take short cuts from the carpark instead of using the path. All in all a very good job!

Read moreVisited Evans Lookout for the first time on a rainy day, and it turned out to be a truly peaceful and memorable experience. The soft rain and mist made the whole valley look mystical and serene—nature in its purest form. It was quiet, calm, and perfect for slowing down and just taking in the beauty around.
The views over the Grose Valley are absolutely stunning, even in overcast weather. The walking tracks are well-maintained, clearly marked, and safe, making it a great place for both casual walkers and more serious hikers. A wonderful spot to enjoy nature, take photos, or just breathe in the fresh mountain air. Highly recommend, whether it's...
Read moreOne of the best nature walks in Sydney, as you fully immerse in nature with lovely rocky, green, and water scenery. You also get to walk through a cave and along rock faces as well. I would suggest starting at the parking lot at the end of the road and walk out towards the first parking lot you past on your drive in. There is a route that leads you down from there. This way, you end with the beautiful scene that is Evans lookout. It's a tough last 15 minutes ascending upwards but well worth it. It takes about 2 and a half hours in total if you don't stop and take in the beautiful...
