The Shorncliffe Pier is located at Park Parade,Shorncliffe QLD 4017.

The original pier was in poor condition at one stage & it looked as though it would be demolished, but due to some common sense prevailing, a rebuild of the Shorncliffe Pier was done.

The rebuild of the Shorncliffe Pier commenced in November 2014 & there has been a fantastic outcome 👌

It then was officially opened again by the Lord Mayor of Brisbane, Councillor Graham Quirk, on the 25 of March, 2016.

I had the good fortune to spend some quality time today with my wife enjoying the surrounding areas along the foreshore & this magnificent pier, which is popular to anyone wishing to throw a fishing line into the water 🙂

The Shorncliffe Pier is very popular in taking in relaxing walks or just sitting down, taking in the beautiful views of the coastline & beyond.

There is parking available just a short distance from the Shorncliffe Pier.

Disabilities parking is provided & Motorised or wheelchair access is user-friendly as this particular place is located right on the seafront & is on ground level.

It's great for families to enjoy BBQS 😊, has adequate uncovered shelters with tables & seating. There is plenty of green space to lay out a picnic blanket.

Modern public toilets are on-site, which are convenient for everyone, including people with disabilities.

There are user-friendly walking & bike riding tracks along the foreshore that take you to Sandgate, where there are plenty of options for a feed of fish & chips 😀

Vendors such as Mr Whippy & other assortments of vendors frequent this area, so you don't miss out on a cup of coffee 😉

Shorncliffe Pier is a beautiful Brisbane heritage spot, which was formally known as "Sandgate Pier". Shorncliffe Pier is the largest timber pier in Brisbane, and one of the longest recreational piers in Australia. The pier spans 351.5 metres out into Brambles Bay, and the width is 5.5 metres. It was originally built by architect F.D.G Stanley in the 1880's, it's purpose to allow ferries commuting between Brisbane and Sandgate, to dock at low tide. A small fee would be collected from the seaside seeking tourists, at the pier entrance. The last ferry ran in 1928. More than a century on, local residents, tourists and Brisbane families, still enjoy this popular scenic spot. It's the perfect place for breathing in fresh salt air and making memories. A cherished slow paced walk with your grandparents, enjoying a conversation with your family & friends, sharing a special moment with someone you love, or simply taking in the stunning scenery all by yourself. Container ships are often on the horizon slowly making their way down to the Port of Brisbane. When we originally moved to Brisbane, friends suggested we try Shorncliffe Pier just before dusk. This is now one of my favourite things to do in Brisbane, especially when you need to clear your head and recharge. My suggestion, grab fish and chips from "Jabbey Road" in Redcliffe, and head down to the pier and enjoy! There is certainly a bit of chilled, relaxed magic happening out there on the...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Shorncliffe Pier: The Longest Walk to Nowhere, and I Loved Every Step

If you’ve ever wanted to dramatically stare into the horizon like you’re in a moody music video—or casually snack on fish & chips while fending off gangs of judgmental seagulls—Shorncliffe Pier is your place. 🌊✨

This pier is long. Like, “did I accidentally start a pilgrimage?” long. By the halfway mark I began questioning my life choices, but by the end I felt spiritually cleansed and slightly windburnt. The sea breeze is free exfoliation for your soul and your eyebrows.

The view is a cinematic masterpiece: pelicans gliding like ancient sky lords, fishermen arguing about bait, and the occasional fish leaping out of the water just to remind you it’s still in charge. The water sparkles like it’s been Photoshopped, which is rude because I did not bring my good camera.

Be warned: the local seagulls have PhDs in snack theft. They will absolutely try to snatch your chips while maintaining unnerving eye contact. One even followed me back to my car, possibly to ask for my Netflix password.

Final Verdict: 5/5 Salty Breezes. Come for the stroll, stay for the existential reflection, leave with one less chip than...
