An expansive and stunning beach where you can take your dog off leash. The water is beautiful and very clear for the most part and the tide goes out quite far which really opens the beach up. Several parking areas and lots of beach to walk along. There's also some shaded areas on the bank which are great, although mostly limited shade on this beach. When visiting Byron Bay a trip to the beach is a must but if like me you are not excited about the idea of squeezing yourself in among the crowds on the main beach then all you have to do is turn left at the beachfront carpark and walk 20 metres to Belongil Beach and most days it will have only 10% of the crowds at the other beaches, it has the same lovely long wide white sandy beach and a bit of personal space...
