What a shame. I write this review with great sadness. Treehouse Byron Bay has always been one of our favorite places to dine in Byron. Since our last visits in January and March this year something drastic has happened. The place has gone from a strong nine to a weak 6 and that is being generous. Over a two week stay we would normally dine there at least 8 times be it lunch or dinner. We have been there once this trip for lunch and after tonight's dinner that will be it for us. The menu is pretty much the same but cooked differently. For example their signature hot wings with blue cheese sauce, which we look forward longingly to, have been replaced by these sticky sweet chilli things which they jokingly say come with firecracker sauce. If you must serve these you can always offer two types of wings on the menu to suit all tastes. Please bring back the old ones. My fish and chips was more beer batter than fish. The fish tacos which used to be divine are now a heavily battered monstrosity. The staff did their best to keep up but were clearly run off their feet, so the service was pretty ordinary. The atmosphere is still great, as was the DJ. They have recently added extra seating towards the back which looked like a great space. The food is the major problem however. It used to be the case that you were stuck trying to pick what to eat because it was all so good. Now you need to try to pick what isn't bad. On this, the Kingfish Ceviche and the Beef Burger are a safe bet. Our party of 6 left disappointed and like I said at the beginning it's...

An Unforgettable Experience at The Treehouse, Byron Bay.

My recent visit to The Treehouse in Byron Bay was an absolutely enchanting experience from start to finish. From the moment we stepped in, we were captivated by the tropical, rustic atmosphere. The restaurant is a true oasis, abundant with lush plants and even a sense of local wildlife around, creating a wonderfully unique and relaxed setting.

While the ambiance set the stage, the culinary highlight was undoubtedly the pizza, masterfully prepared by the incredibly talented Chef Giovanni. Honestly, the pizza we had was hands down the best pizza I've ever had! My partner and I actually had a giggle, calling it a total "foodgasm" – it was that good. Chef Giovanni is a truly fantastic chef whose passion and skill shine through in every delicious bite, and his bubbly, friendly demeanor only adds to the wonderful dining experience.

Beyond the incredible food and setting, the high level of customer service truly made our visit memorable. Every staff member was attentive and welcoming. A special shout-out to Tristan for his excellent service, and also to the "chilli sauce guy" (whose name I regrettably can't recall!) who was fantastic. Their dedication to ensuring guests have a fantastic time truly stood out.

The Treehouse offers more than just exceptional food; it provides an immersive dining experience that perfectly embodies the Byron Bay spirit, thanks to its stunning environment, phenomenal food, and genuinely wonderful staff. We'll definitely have to be back for more! Highly,...

Lolol this place is wild. Got there at 11 and lingered waiting for someone to direct us where to sit, eventually we were told with ‘tude, sit anywhere, order at the bar. So we found a table and cleaned it ourselves, found our own menus and ordered some drinks to start. At 11:34 we were ready to order food. We went to the bar and were told everything was closed between 11:30-12 (information that would have been useful earlier), and to order at the bar at 12. It gets to 12 and we go to the bar and are told to go sit down, as it is now table service. So we wait. And wait, and wait. And waited some more (despite letting staff know we were ready to order), eventually someone came over and begrudgingly took our order. We finished our meals, and decided it might be nice to have another coffee/drink. I made contact with the staff member, and she said I’ll be a moment. Cue another wait. We waited so long we decided to just pay and go. The same staff who told me I’ll be a moment finalised the payment. She couldn’t have been less enthused to be there. I get it, who wants to work, but we fake it til we make it, right?

Anyway, good food, but you might be waiting forever for it - if you can work out what all...

I have good memories here from 12 years ago and the food is just as good. They do a mean gluten free burger! Service today has been excellent which I wish I could say the same about yesterday where things went wrong with my order and I got attitude from one of the waitresses which wasn't nice at all! However, service today has been brilliant and with a smile which is what I appreciate. I noticed a photographer taking photos and had to go and speak to him and tell him I don't want to be in photos so I'm wondering why permission wasn't asked first? I would have hated to be in photos without knowing and trust he will delete any he took of me as requested. Also, when someone has allergens it's really helpful to repeat the order back to them when delivering the food as it puts our mind at ease that it is free from our allergens. It's very simple and easy to do and illuminates any worry. Overall I would eat the burgers here every day they're so good!

Pretty much perfect! We walked down the beach from East Byron & what an evening we ended up having! We didn't book & got very lucky that there was a table for 2 available as people were being turned away only 15 minutes later. Such a great vibe happening here, from dates to parties going on all in the evening sun of the beautiful Byron Bay. We both ordered 2 cocktails followed by 2 pizzas & a side of fries. Truthfully, we enjoyed the fries the most! Something about them made then irresistible. The pizzas were still amazing & we ate a lot of them the next day still tasting great! Money wise, it was as expected in Byron, being a very popular place to visit & live. If you feel it may be a little on the expensive side, I would say ignore this & go for it for one night! You will leave feeling full, happy & very grateful for this spot existing. Great job guys!

Quite a surprise. Stayed close by on a quick business trip and needed to eat. This place won me over unexpectedly. Great pizza, heaving with toppings and an awesome wood fired crust. My hectic capital city schedule precluded drinks but I could have easily sat there all night listening to music and soaking up the tiki-esque ambience, wood fires burning to take the mild chill out of the June air. It's not fair to be here on a work trip. It's just not fair. I returned the following morning for breakfast. The Granola appeared with fruit. It was impossibly perfect, see the photo. Day shots don't do it justice. At night, with all the mood lights....it like a tropical impressionist painting. If I'm in Byron again I am definitely going back. Check it out.
