Mar-22: still good, coconut cold brew still a star, soba noodles consistently great, but my favourite mushroom burger is off the menu. The double egg roll with extra haloumi is now my go to
Nov-21: still amazing on this trip. It's either folk or no bones for best eatery in Byron (or most of NSW for that matter)
Apr-21: ok, this really is my favourite place in Byron bay. Went back twice on this trip. Still love the coconut cold drip. Tried the double egg roll and the eggs taste very fresh and the organic cheese is a perfect pair. I cut up my pickle and stuffed it back into the roll. The soba noodles and the mushroom burger are still divine. There was a Brazillian coconut stew (I think it was vegan), that was pretty good as well.
Nov-20:I LOVE THIS PLACE. My coconut (water) cold drip coffee was Devine, the organic milk flat white was better than most in Sydney, but no comparison to the coconut cold drip (unexpectedly good). Hands down the best Halloumi and mushroom (with house tonkotsu sauce, slaw and lettuce) burger I have had in a very long time. The Cuban breakfast place with plantains (bananas), eggs, rice, salsa and greens is fantastic in its own way. Lovely areas to sit inside and outside.
Went back a few days later. Had the mushroom burger again, the waitress had a keen eye, as she sent the burger back to the kitchen before serving us. The soba noodle salad was awesome, highly recommend that too, very refreshing. The coconut cold brew wasn't as good as the first day, but still better than the other coffees we...

But....
Always very confused by restaurants calling themselves plant-based when eggs + dairy (or honey) does not come from plants, also very few actually fully plant based selections on the menu. Also menu says ethical sourcing, which if you want to try + make that argument for eggs + honey I can understand maybe (although there's not ethical way of stealing things from creatures that don't belong to us + most egg laying hens are extremely calcium deprived + shouldn't be encouraged to lay eggs + when the do should be fed back to them so they can retain some of the nutrients humans manipulated their bodies to over produce simply for our taste buds, + even the most "ethical" wholesalers of eggs sell their chickens for slaughter after they cannot lay anymore) but I digress... there is absolutely no ethical way of harvesting dairy, none, dairy is meant for babies only + babies are ripped away from their mothers + either killed on the spot or sent for veal, a process where the mother is forcefully impregnated her entire life only to eventually be sold for meat herself when she can no longer reproduce. May as well serve meat on the menu is actually more ethical than the dairy industry as at least the tortured is...
Read moreDecided to give folk Byron Bay a try on Sunday as it kept popping up on my socials and looked sensational. Online arrived to find there is no car park or parking. It’s right next door to the caravan park so parking is a nightmare at a hazard has the car park king that is available is a shared zone with the entry to the caravan park so it is a hazard on street parking on the main road is mostly zoned no standing so if you do park there you’ll get a fine. We spent $91 on what you see in the pictures. Order at counter pay at counter atmosphere. It was very average and spoke to staff about the 15% surcharge that we were to pay for and was told that it goes to the employees. No looking forward to the law changing when they’re not able to charge you 15% for nothing on top of what you’re already paying for overpriced and average food. These meals could’ve been made at home for cost of around $20 As after all we were only ordering simple eggs and avo smash one cappuccino and one Chai latte $91.00, sorry not sorry I am honest when I do a review on somewhere that I am paying good money to eat at We will...
