Great trail and really well maintained path. Saw some kangaroos near the start which was cool. Didn't spot anything during the climb itself, but the astounding panoramic view from the top of Mount Ainslie made the effort completely worthwhile.

It was my first time hiking in Canberra and I found the trail to be beginner friendly! Loved that there was a clear pathway. It was a short but lovely hike. Took us 1 hour 20 minutes to go up, take plenty of rest and pics, and go back down.

Trail is easy to follow, just a bit steep for the first 20 mins. As you get higher, the views open up. The lookout at the top gives you an awesome view over almost all of Canberra like buildings, layout, everything. Totally worth it!

Great walking track from the back of the Australian war memorial to the top of mount Ainslie. It is shaded for most parts, so good on warm sunny days. The path is sealed with some steps in some sections.

Take note that it can be busy with many walkers and runners. There are many other alternative walking tracks that commence from the same location and lead around Mt Ainslie and to the summit. You can even progress to Mt Majura also. Those paths are not sealed and is a mixture of fire trails and narrow paths.

Parking is along the street and also at the war memorial and the...
