Lakes Way Forster NSW a minefield of potholes that are patched nearly daily by council workers with some tar and padded down with their feet. How can our council allow our roads to become so dangerous? Does someone need to die before something is done about this? So many residents will say " "Oh we are such a large council area now that the council does not have the funds to maintain safe roads." We are not a third world country and the council receives far more income from rates than they did in the 1970s and 80's when our roads were far better. So where is our money going? Is it not the highest priority of a council to provide roads that are safe enough to drive on without having to veer on to the wrong side of the road or put one tire off the road to avoid potholes or such badly patched roads that it shudders your car like a machine gun or the jack hammer that the council workers should have used to properly repair the potholes? Please use the WAZE App to log every hazard/pothole you see so the council cannot say that they were not aware of the extent of the damage. It will also help those whose tires/suspension/cars are damaged to claim the damage was the result of an extremely poorly maintained road.

Beautiful view. Only 15mins out of Tuncurry. Just be warned the mozzies attack immediately & dont mind hitching a lift if you leave car door open too long. But very much worth a visit for the sunset. You dont actually need to get out of car as you pull up right near the waters edge.

A peaceful spot to view the sunset. Only chirping of the birds mainly lorikeets to disturb your peace 😂. It was quite deserted except for a few camper vans and some anglers.

Despite being listed in Google searches as a dog friendly park this is absolutely not the case and Council rangers will issue $300 fines for having your dog there whether on lead or not. The signage is totally inadequate being almost at ground level and tiny, and it's right in front of the carpark so you can't see it if a car has parked in front of it which, given the limited parking, is entirely likely. Nice view, but a nasty surprise waiting to happen for those travelling with dogs and thinking it would be a nice...

This spot is located just off the Lakes Way and offers amazing views over Wallis Lake and dramatic sunsets when conditions are right. There are a couple of picnic tables to sit at or you can remain in your car to appreciate the view, just make sure you have the Aeroguard on as it’s a mosquito paradise. A small boat ramp of sorts allows for easy launching of kayaks / canoes / paddle boards. Shops and cafes are 5 minutes away at Blueys Beach so grab some takeaway and bring it...
